Dashing Deer-Fun Fact Friday

I fell in love with these skeletal trees the first time I saw them. but wondered how on earth I could adhere them to the paper I would put them on.

That brings me to today's fun fact.  If you take one of our silicone craft sheets, and place it under the tree with the back facing up, you can use your snail adhesive.  The adhesive will not stick to the sheet, but will stick to the tree.

And if you plan ahead, you can also use our multipurpose adhesive sheets.  You first attach them to the paper you want to cut out and then cut it out.  When you peel the back off the cut out image it is totally sticky.
I had a lot of this design from the Wood Texture designer paper stack and liked it for the background of this stamp.  Sort of a symbolic representation of the woods.
Are you now in love with the Dashing Deer bundle?  There are still some parts that I did not use this week.

Next week I will be featuring cards and treat holders that you can make for Halloween.  I will be using my favorite Halloween set from the Holiday catalog. Can you guess which one it is?

These are the last few days of the World Card making sale. Check out the flyer here.

We had our 90 degree day, and then our 60 degree day and now we have rain.  A good day to stay inside and create.  I am really excited because today is my Get to Know Your Stamparatus class and I have 7 people coming.  I hope they will be as excited as I am about this great tool when the class is over.

Have a great day where ever you are
Happy Stamping,
Sushi

Happy Birthday Thinlit-Template Thursday

I love these bows.  This paper is so much fun to use.  One side is photos of birthday items, and the other is designs using the same colors. Can't you see duplicating this card using a different piece of the Picture Perfect Party designer paper on each card.

When you sign up for my Everything Birthday Card Cafe, you will receive a pack of this designer paper as part of the class fee.  Great deal!
I love using this Happy Birthday Thinlit die.  Does is look hard to glue onto the page?  There are two things you can use to attach it to your card stock.

1. The Fine tip Glue pen.  It gives you a very tiny bit of glue that allows you to attach very small pieces of card stock to your backing.  The one caution when using this is to put the lid back on after every use to keep the glue from drying in the shaft.

2. Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  First, you take the layer with the writing on it off of a section of the adhesive sheet.  Then you attach the sheet on the back of your cardstock.  Finally,  cut out the words with your Big Shot. Make sure the adhesive backed sheet is on the bottom where you can't see it.  Otherwise your words will come out backwards. (Voice of experience speaking)

3. Now take the remaining part of the Adhesive sheet off the back of your words and the are ready to attach to your project.  No mess for you or your paper.

Tomorrow I will share a way to show off a lot of the designer paper in a simple card.

New Catalog Premier- Adhesive sheets

Do you remember these adhesive sheets?  For some reason I had saved them from several years ago and was able to use them on this card.  I use something very similar when I sew.

1. The first step is to cut the sheet the size of your cardstock.

2. Take off one layer of the adhesive sheet and attach it to the wrong side of your cardstock.

3. Lay your thinlit on top of the cardstock and cut out the thinlit.

4. Remove the opposite layer of the adhesive sheet and your butterfly will have adhesive all over the back.  Attach to your card.

5. If you make a mistake as I did the other day and find the adhesive on the top of the card then just add some dazzling diamonds and the adhesive will no longer be sticky.  Attach the item to your card front with the fine tip glue pen and you will be in great shape.

Come back next week to see samples of my 5 favorite items from the new catalog.

Fresh Fig-Happy Birthday thinlit

I love this Happy Birthday thinlit.  It is stylish, fills up the card front and says it all.  It looks pretty hard to attach to a card front without making a mess don't you think?  Well, Stampin'Up! brought back their Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to help with that problem.  And being a person that has a hard time throwing out things I might be able to use someday, I had some that I kept.

1. First you cut a piece of the adhesive sheet the size you need.

2. Next peel off one side of the sheet and attach it to a piece of card stock that is just a tiny bit bigger.

3. Cut the design you want on the big shot making sure the adhesive side is down.

4. Peel off the other side of the adhesive sheet and your design now has adhesive all over it and will stick easily to your project.

If you have not stored any for these past few years, then order some and you will love using them.

What a fun in-color week this has been.  Come back on Monday to see samples of what people will be able to make at my new catalog Premier to be held also in July.
