Country Home-Fun Fact Friday

You might be wondering what about this card has anything to do with the Country Home stamp set.  Well, the saying is from the set.  I wanted to find some way to make a Christmas card.

My accent piece is made using the Starburst punch, and the Everyday label punch.  I like to find ways to layer these great punches.

The leaves are made with the leaf, and sprig punch.  I made a couple of leaves using some of the Vellum Card stock.  I got that idea from several of the Paper Pumpkin kits I have been making up lately.

Spooky Sweets-Wednesday Wow

Last week at a Butterfly Friends meeting 2 members showed me how to make a pop up card that I loved.  So, this week for my WOW card I tried it myself.

The inside of the card.  It pops out when you open the card. Now, I am thinking about a Thanksgiving and Christmas card I could make using this feature.

Yesterday was my 35 year anniversary.  I felt like it was quite the accomplishment for a second marriage.  My husband surprised me with a diamond ring.  He is such a wonderful man, and like any married couple should, we have stayed with each other through the good and bad times and are now such a comfort to each other.

Rain again today, so I guess it will be a good stamping day,

Spooky Sweets-Technique Tuesday

I have to say this Halloween wreath was sure fun to make.  Last week I shared how to create a template to create a wreath using your Stamparatus.  This week I will show you how to use the template in my weekly video. Be sure and check back at 4 PM to watch the video.

I used a bat, moon and the word Boo! in the wreath.

Sometimes the center of a wreath looks a little cluttered. So, I created this accent piece for the center.  It completed the wreath.

And for the final touch, I tied a knot with the sparkly ribbon.  Sure was fun to make.

A lot of wreath cards I have seen have been made with plants and flowers.  I like to try and make unusual ones with different items.  That is why I tried these Halloween items.

Tomorrow, I will share a pop up card for my Wednesday Wow.  I learned the technique from Robin and Claudia at my up line meeting last week.  I know I will trying it out with more cards for different occasions.

Black and White and Red all Over-Scrapbook Week

This was a lot of fun to create.  There are a couple of items I used on this page that are retired.  Can you guess what?  The punches.  I love punches and have a hard time putting them in my retired item garage sale.  The corners were punched with a retired corner punch.  It had 3 different ways to punch a corner.  Since we have nothing else quite like that I decided to keep the punch until we do.

However if you guessed the the long punched border was done with a retired punch you would be wrong.  This punch is in the current annual catalog and it called the Decorative Ribbon Border. Can you see this layout done in the school colors of kids you know?

New Catalog Premier - New Tab Punch

  Do you like to organize your catalog so that you can find things easier?  At my New Catalog Premier I always have a station where stampers can tab the sections of their new catalog.

 The new tab punch makes this easy to do.

I start by labeling the sections of the catalog that are listed on the table of contents.  But, then I like to add a few more of my own favorites.

Color- I want to be able to get to the color families and the designer paper quickly.

Memories- I want to be able to find this section for my scrapbooking customers.

Index- I love to have this area tabbed so I can look up the page where a stamp set can be found.

This year all the tabs with the exception of 2 are made from the 10 current in-colors.

Halloween Fun class- Halloween Shaker card

 I am almost obsessed with making shaker cards so of course we have to do one for Halloween.  I punched out stars using the Confetti Stars border punch using the following colors.....

Delightful Dijon
Crushed Curry
Daffodil Delight
So Saffron
Gold Foil
Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper

I wanted the circle and the shaker items to look like the moon.  This fun set is called Spooky Fun and has lots of fun items to use for fall or Halloween.  I especially like the rugged looking tree.

Scrapbook Your Life- Bubbles layout

     When I was thinking about possible layouts for August, I considered that a lot of people might have vacations that were around water.  When I thought about water, I thought about bubbles and this is the layout I came up with.  The side borders were made this way.

1. I cut Whisper White paper into strips that would fit on the sides of the layout.

2. From one strip I punched out a variety of circles and used this as my stencil.

3. I then used 4 different colors of blue that went together and sponged  the circles in stencil to create a variety of dots.

  As extra accents I then punched out a variety of different sized circles. 

    We saw a lot of the ocean at my family reunion so I think those picture would look great on this layout.

Knollwood- DSP Creativity

     Can you see how I used the various papers from the Adventure Bound designer paper pack.

1. I created the bird using the water paper because I thought it looked a bit like feathers.

2.  The grass made a great looking branch.

3. I used the brick background to make the flowers and the grey on the back of the same paper for the dot in the center of the flower.

  You might wonder how the seniors could get the teeny tiny center on the flowers.  I used our new fine tip glue pen to attach the centers on the flowers.  It will make gluing tiny items so easy and will be available to purchase on September 4th. Are you as excited as I was about this new item?
