Spooky Sweets-Fun Fact Friday

Don't you love the swirly sky on this card.  I got the idea from Tina's Crafty Ink Spot.  Check out her card here and see the changes I made.

The fun fact for this Friday is the background stamp.  It looks like the shaving cream technique to me.  So, you can achieve a look you want in one easy step by using a background stamp.

Next week, I will be featuring the stamp set Country Home and the designer paper called Country Lane.  There are no sets in the Holiday Catalog that have the words Happy Thanksgiving, but I will show you how to create some Thanksgiving cards any way.

I have some great news, I have totally cleaned up my stamping room and plan to keep it that way.  The project for today is going to be a pile of papers.  You know that pile.  Hard to decide whether to keep or throw away, and if you want to keep it where do you put it.  It may take me as long to go through this pile as it did to clean up the rest of the area. Spooky Sweets-3-D Thursday

I wanted to show case a treat bag for 3-D Thursday and this is such a cute one.  Check out the tutorial here from Karen Robinson.  What I want to know if where can you find the Lindor candy she posted.  

I figured I would stop by my local Dollar Tree store and see what I could find.  I figured cute Halloween pencils would definitely fit inside, but maybe I'll find something else.  Do you have any ideas?

I used the Twinkle Builder punch for the stars.  Some of them are so tiny.  I decided to try out my Take Your Pick tool.  That is a neat tool.

First, I put small dots of glue where I wanted the stars to do.
Next, I used the clay end of the tool to pick up the star.
Finally, it was so easy to place the star right on top of the glue.

No more glue all over my fingers.  I can't wait to create a new item to use this tool with.

Tomorrow I will feature a card using the Marble Background stamp.  Love how that looks like I used the Shaving Cream technique.

Tonight the temperature is supposed to get down into the 30's. Wow, not ready for it to be quite that cold. But, maybe next week it will be back in the 80's.

Cold day, stay inside and stamp.  That is my motto for today.

Spooky Sweets-Wednesday Wow

Last week at a Butterfly Friends meeting 2 members showed me how to make a pop up card that I loved.  So, this week for my WOW card I tried it myself.

The inside of the card.  It pops out when you open the card. Now, I am thinking about a Thanksgiving and Christmas card I could make using this feature.

Yesterday was my 35 year anniversary.  I felt like it was quite the accomplishment for a second marriage.  My husband surprised me with a diamond ring.  He is such a wonderful man, and like any married couple should, we have stayed with each other through the good and bad times and are now such a comfort to each other.

Rain again today, so I guess it will be a good stamping day,

Spooky Sweets-Make It Simple Monday

I based this card on one I found created by bijmaargreit.com.  I found it to be simple but it popped out at me because of the monochromatic look.

1. Background is the Buffalo Check stamp set.  I leave mine in the stamp case it came in.  I ink it up, lay my card stock over the ink, place a piece of scrap paper over that and press all over. I have been very happy with my results.

2. I punched a white circle, stamped the cloud on top, punched some bats and glued all these onto the card.

3. You might wonder where I got the word BOO!.  It was from the September paper pumpkin kit.  I stamped boo on my envelope and on the inside of the card on a piece of white card stock. Simple, cute and fun to make.

We had a great weekend which included a visit yesterday to visit our son who lives in St. Louis.  I love seeing Chris, but the visits are also special because he finds the best places to go out to eat.  The town I live in has about every fast food restaurant you could think of and many, many pizza places.  And that is about it.  So,you can see why it is such a treat to eat out in St. Louis.  No chains for sure.
