Have you heard of Paper Pumpkin? Are you a subscriber? Do you like a great deal? This might be the thing you are looking for. Paper pumpkin is a kit you receive in the mail once a month. All the supplies are included except scissors, to make at least 8 items a month. This card was one of the kit cards from the February kit.
This was a second card from the kit. There were enough supplies to make 9 cards, three of each design.
This was the third card. In the kit was an ink spot, and in a 12 month period the spots will never be duplicated. Sometimes there are even 2 spots in a kit. Spots are a great way to ink up the items on the Stamparatus. Also included in each kit is an exclusive stamp set that is photopolymer. Your first kit includes an acrylic block to use with your stamps.
I order 2 kits a month so I can make scrapbook layouts for my Scrapbook Your Life class. This is the layout for this month.

Friday already, and a rainy day to boot. That means I can have plenty of time to stamp and scrap. In fact the first Friday of every month, I join a group of friends for an evening of scrapbooking. I have been working hard on getting my boxes of pictures onto my boxes of premade layouts like the ones I have shared with you this week. The Paper Pumkin kit of the day is the Broadway Star. It is bold and bright and coordinates with a designer paper called Broadway bound. The first thing I do when I get a kit is make up at least one card for each of the designs they offer. The one on the left looks like a great birthday card, and there are a number of candles offered so I could customize if for one of my grandchildren. But not my husband who will be 84 on his next birthday.
The one on the right could be used for any kind of celebration, an award, a graduation, or for someone reaching a goal they have accomplished. I will use it for the downline member with the highest sales of the month.
A video like this one comes every month from Stampin'Up! and has several helpful hints to make the creating a bit easier.
The next thing I do is try and create a scrapbook layout with the supplies from both the kits I receive. This is the one I came up with. Can you find the added designer paper I added from the coordinating kit? (Hint: The balloon paper, and the gold and black paper. You can see how well they coordinate with the kit papers.) I decided to make the layout kind of generic so that it could be used for any kind of celebration.
The middle Hooray was made by cutting around the negative space left over from the solid Hooray. The great thing about these words,are they are adhesive backed and therefore, so easy to place on a card or layout.
I decided to place some of the words from the stamp set, in the white space on this part of the page. There were a lot of words I wanted to use, so I placed them on the block that comes with your first kit and used all of them together as a stamp.
It made it a lot easier than stamping each one separately and helped fill that empty space. What a fun productive week I have had using the Paper Pumpkin kits that have been sitting around unused for several months. I hope this week has helped you realize what fun Paper Pumpkin can be and how you can use your kit in many more ways than it is intended. When I saw the lovely flower arrangements on the cards for August, my mind started churning with ideas on how turn these cards into a scrapbook layout. These beautiful cards were very easy to duplicate as you can see in this video.
I remember the first kit that came out in 2013. You received a block, a red rubber stamp set, and the materials to make 4 cards. This most recent kit included materials to make 10 cards with some vellum leaves left over.
Here are some things I did to create this layout. 1. I used the negative space as a stencil and sponged Old Olive ink in the spot that held the vellum leaves. 2. I cut the flower group from one card into a cluster for the left hand page. 3. I cut the second card front into 1 1/2 strips as accents to the white card stock on the right hand page. 4. Finally, I stamped the flower image that came in the kit and cut them out added them with some vellum leaves to the corners of the white card stock. I am excited to share this layout with the stampers that come to my Scrapbook Your Life class. I am ready for the cooler weather of fall. It has been so hot this past week that I have not ventured out for my daily bike ride. If the forecasted stays away then I should be able to get a ride in the next few days. Wasn't this a beautiful kit? There were two designs of envelopes that held a card inside. They would be hard to mail, but perfect on the front of a great gift for someone special. Check out how they were made in this video.
I decided to take apart the envelopes and turn them into standard sized cards.
I still had lots of little pieces left over from cutting up the envelopes so was able to make a few more cards.
Finally, as a gift to celebrate the anniversary of Paper Pumpkin some wonderful wooden accent pieces were included. Hmm, I decided to make even more cards with these cute accents.
So, I got at least 17 cards from a kit that was to make 8. Now, for the scrapbook pages.
I used the envelopes to make pockets and inserted some card stock with an accent on top. I pictured a special picture or journaling card being inserted in each pocket.
Such fun. Now, I have to admit that I have a red box overload on a shelf in my stamping room. I am sometime so busy with classes, when my kit comes, that I don't always get them made up on time. Tomorrow, when you come back I will show you that I have actually made up the August kit and it is just September 4th. Yeah Me! Did you know that not all the Paper Pumpkin kits are cards. April's kit was a cute box that held 5 small gift card sized cards.
The kit had enough supplies to make up 4 of the boxes with 5 cards each. I gave them away as hostess gifts for several different events I went to this summer. This video shows how easy it is to put the kit together.
I still have plenty of supplies left to make up some more small cards that I plan to use as thank you cards for people who order from me.
I like to actually order 2 complete kits so that I have enough supplies to make up scrapbook layouts with the second kit. This is the layout I made with the April kit. Even though the kit came out in April, I can see putting some summer pictures on these pages. What would you put on the pages?
I used some of the twine, and some leftover pieces to make a couple of accent pieces.
And finally, I used the negative space from the anchor punch outs to make another accent piece. I just sponged around the edges and mounted it on a cut up piece of box cover. Once again every little piece accounted for. The March paper pumpkin kit was my inspiration for several items that I will share with you tomorrow. I created this layout for my Scrapbook Your Life class to make. I cut apart the envelopes and baskets to make several of the details on the layout.

To create this background to place photos on, I used what was leftover from punching out the fruit to sponge shapes for the background. What I love about these monthly kits is the challenge I give myself to use every part of the kit. Do you recognize these designer papers? They are called Picture Perfect 6 by 6 designer series paper. One side is a picture of a party element and the other side is a design in the same colors. Fun to flip then over like I did.
A favorite thinlit to use on anything related to a birthday is this one. It is called the Happy Birthday thinlit. I can be hard to lay down on paper with getting glue everywhere until you back it with a piece of adhesive sheet. This was a lot of fun to create. There are a couple of items I used on this page that are retired. Can you guess what? The punches. I love punches and have a hard time putting them in my retired item garage sale. The corners were punched with a retired corner punch. It had 3 different ways to punch a corner. Since we have nothing else quite like that I decided to keep the punch until we do. However if you guessed the the long punched border was done with a retired punch you would be wrong. This punch is in the current annual catalog and it called the Decorative Ribbon Border. Can you see this layout done in the school colors of kids you know? I have a favorite blog I go to to start my ideas for using Paper Pumpkin in my layouts. Rachel Tessman is so creative. Here is her take on alayout for this kit. You can see her inspiration in my layout. One of my biggest challenges is to make sure the I put the pictures on my layouts. I have a great time designing my layouts, but never seem to find the time to actually put pictures on them. So, I have until the end of April to make sure that this layout has some pictures on it. Tomorrow I will be sharing a layout that is all black, white, and red. One of the ladies who scraps with me asked for a layout with her daughter's school colors. This layout could easily be changed up for any school colors. Check it out and see what you think.
Welcome to Scrapbook Week! I have a class once a month where the scrappers that come make 2 two-page spreads. If they bring the pages back the next month with pictures then I have a surprise for them. Often it is some designer paper that says scrapbook page to me. This month I featured a layout that could be used for St. Patrick's Day if you are a fan. I knew I wanted to feature green in some way and thought that black would work well with the green. Can you guess what I used for my greens? I went through every pack of designer paper I had a chose all the green papers. This was really fun to create. Can't wait to see what the pages look like with pictures.

What pictures would you put on these pages? Cammie put some pictures from a family dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Fun way to use these pages. I have a class once a month that I call Scrapbook Your Life. In the class each person makes 2 two-page spreads. I provide all the supplies including 2 plastic sleeves each month. Then, if they bring the pages back the next month with pictures on the pages they receive a surprise gift they can use in scrapbooking. It might be a piece of designer paper, or some embellishments as a way of saying Hurrah you did it.
