Step it up Thursday-Nothings Better Than

I had fun creating with this crazy template this week.  Did you try and make a card with it?

If you checked things out on Monday you saw my simple card.

Today I stepped it up first in a simple way.

1. I added designer paper that matched the color of each shape.

2. I popped up the saying and the cookie at the bottom.

Those changes made the card look really different.

My final stepped up card had lots of additional changes.

1. I added designer paper to the background.  It matched the Basic Gray and was from the Neutral pack.

2. I switched the designer papers from the shapes so they did not match the card stock.

3. I popped up each one of the shapes.

4. I added Shimmery White Crystal Effects to the chocolate bits.

5. I colored the hearts with Dark Soft Suede so they looked like chocolate.

I had a great time making these  stepped up cards.  Try it  for yourself.

What is a Super Snail?

What is a Super Snail?  It is the name of my team.  Way back about 15 years ago when I had at least 3 members we could name the team.  The members deicded on the name Super Snails since we used Snail adhesive to attach our card parts together.

This video shows all the ways you benefit from being a part of my team.  Here is a link that will direct you to my join up page if you are excited to join my team.

So does that sound like something that would be fun to be a part of?  Contact me with any questions.

Tomorrow, I will step up the card I made on Monday, using my oldy but goody for the month.

Cut it out Tuesday-Lattice card #60

Rain Rain go away! Little Susie wants to play! We have had and will have almost a week of rain.  Some of it is needed but it really interferes with my desire to take a walk or bike ride every day. At least I can stay inside and do some stamping.

This is the card of the week.  It uses strips of designer paper and is called the Lattice card.

Here is what you need to have cut out and ready to go on Friday when I share how to put the card together.

1. Card Base cut 5.5 x 8.5 and scored at 4.25
2. Cut 1.75 off the front flap of the card after it is folded.
3. Cut white strip 5.25 x 1.5.  Then mark every .75 inches on the long side top and bottom.
4. Cut 2 coordinating colors of designer paper in 12 inch long strips at .75 each. If using 6 x 6 paper then cut a total of 12 inch for each color.
5. Cut designer paper for the front 2.25 x 5.25
6. Coordinating card stock cut one piece 2 3/8 x 5 3/8 for front  and a second at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 for the inside.
7. Cut a neutral piece that is 5.25 x 2.5 for inside
8. Cut a shape that a saying can fit inside and accent pieces.

Lots of pieces but they fit together quite easily.

Here is my sample.  I used the So Cool paper pumpkin kit for my card.  Can you see how cute the lattice looks on the back layer of the card.

Get your supplies ready and join me on Friday when I will show you how to put this card together.  Facebook Live at 10:30 or Zoom at 6:30  Contact me if you will need the Zoom links.

Tomorrow I will share what it means to be a Super Snail. Check my video at 10:30.

Make it Simple Monday-Nothings Better Than

Wow, the 17th of May already.  Can you believe that May is half way over already.

I have a stamping suite that I focus on every month and I make all my card samples using that suite.  It helps  make me look at the items in the suite in lots of different ways.

BUT I wondered how I would feature all the current sets that are not brand new.  So, I came up with an oldies but goodies week.  The third week of every month I will feature an old set al week long. This week I am featuring
NOTHING'S BETTER THAN

Today is Monday, the start of a new week and a new template to use to make some cards.

This template is very different in that no curves are allowed.  Think of all the stamps that have curves, flowers, leaves, circles, ovals, and I could go on and on.  So squares, rectangles and triangles were the shapes that came to my mind.

Here is what came to my mind when I thought of those shapes.
Nothing is better than chocolate, and chocolate chip cookies are some of the best.
