I love these two greens together...Mint Macaron and Mossy Meadow. I found a similar card created by Helen Burnley on Pinterest. I changed up her colors and the ribbon but kept the layout the same. I think this makes a wonderful sympathy card, I just hope it stays in my card box and that I never have to use it.

Don't you just love the background in this card? I got the idea from Mary Brown and thought it worked out well.
1. Take a stamp block and ink the entire block with the lightest color of marker.
2. Take the next lightest color and ink up 2/3 of the block with that color.
3. Take the darkest color and ink up 1/3 of the block with that color.
4. Lightly spritz the block with water and stamp onto your cardstock. Whisper White will work just fine.

Sometimes I like to make a card with just one main color. This time I chose Smoky Slate. You might wonder how I got the fancy look at the bottom of the card.
1. Choose the Lots of Label thinlit that fits the bottom of the cardstock. Keep the majority of the card on top of the framelit. Place the bottom of the card under the framelit so the cutting edge lines up with the bottom of the card stock. The framelit will only cut the bottom edge.
2. To keep the butterfly in the cut out space just re-glue the butterfly back onto the card once all the little pieces are gone.
3. Use the ferns from the stamp set Awesomely Artistic as the background of the saying making sure to stamp them off before applying the image to the card stock piece.
Enjoy making this card in your favorite color combination.
These bright colors make me think of Western designs. I found this card on Julie Davison's blog and loved it. This was one of the cards my stampers at the library and the senior center made this month. I can think of several people I would send this card to, how about you?

1. DSP makes a great background
2. You can make a great card by combining several DSP's that coordinate together.
3. DSP makes great 3-D items like bags, and boxes.
This card was very easy to make DSP on the top and the bottom. Coordinating ribbon with one of the colors helped cover the place where the two papers connected. I was not sure what color to use for the cardstock for the accent piece until I looked at the color combinations for English Garden dsp. Not Quite Navy was one of the colors mentioned and looks great as a backing for my saying.

Does this look like a difficult card to make? Well, it is not at all.
1. First of all ink the Swallowtail stamp with versa mark ink. I do with the grooved part up.
2. Next, emboss with white embossing powder.
3. Finally, with a sponge or dauber, rub Rich Razzleberry ink over the embossed image to pop out the flowered image.

The theme for this month's card buffet class was Sympathy cards. I find it very sad that I seem to need more and more sympathy cards lately. A card created b y Lynn Weiss was my inspiration for this card. What I loved about the card.....
1. The distinct lines that separated the sky and ground from the rest of the front. It was made using post it notes as a mask.
2. I was able to use Lovely as a Tree for the card, an all time favorite stamp. The trees are stamped after the post it notes are removed.
3. The simplicity of the card. I find that more and more I am attracted to cards that are simple.
Whenever I go to a Stamping Event I try to participate in the swaps that are offered. What is a swap you might wonder?
1. You make as many card fronts as you wish of a design. I usually make no more than 20 of one design because I get bored doing the same thing over and over.
2. You find someone who is also swapping and trade one of yours for one of theirs.
3. You come home with lots of new ideas. This card is based on a swap I got at the Convention this past summer.
This is another card from my October Fill Your Card box with Sympathy cards class. I love how you can use the acrylic blocks as stamps. We learned for this card to stamp the block on scrap paper before placing it on the card. Otherwise the ink was almost too bright to ink over. Notice the envelope liner framelit. Now, if I don't do something to my envelopes when I make a card I feel as though they are naked. And you know we can't have that!
Monday was Fill Your Card box with Sympathy cards, cards I hate to have to send, but find I am sending out more and more as time goes by. This card used a sponging technique.
1. Punch a hole in the center of 1/4 piece of card stock the size you want. I used the 1 3/4 inch punch. This piece of card stock will be your template for sponging.
2. Place the template at the top of the card and sponge the inside of the circle. I used Cajun Craze.
3. Move the circle to different parts of the card front and use a different colored sponge each time. I used Marina Mist and Old Olive for my other colors.
4. Finish the card with a saying, and another image stamped on top of the sponged area. I stamped one of the leaf images from the stamp set Gently Falling, and the saying So Sorry.
This card was a swap I must have received a while ago because the saying is from a retired set, so I replaced the saying with one from the So Sorry stamp set.
The stamp set Gently Falling is one of the 25 stamps on sale for $25 until October 28th. It is one of my favorites sets that I use a lot.
