This card looks good with the designer paper and the poinsettas that are stamped on the center panel. But is there a way to make it look great?
Can you see the changes I made to the card to step it up a bit.
I used poinsettas, but actually cut then out with the thinlits that coordinate with the stamp set. If you have this set you might be puzzled as to how I did this because there is not poinsettia thinlit.
This is the piece that I used to create the stunning border. The center poinsettia is the same as the stamp and if you line it up carefully it will cut the flower out for you.
As much fun as I had this week making and sharing these cards, believe it or not I still did not use all the pieces that available to use between the stamps and the thinlits. I made this card several years ago at a stamping event in Champaign, Illinois. I liked it so much I featured it in a card buffet months later. I had a few people make the card but had a lot of leftover paper cut. So, I decided even though the stamp set was retired, and the paper no longer available I could create a card with the leftover supplies that used current products.
I really like the end results and may do something similar to other card leftovers.
I had so much fun playing with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set. Next week I am going to focus on a stamp set that will be a part of the new Holiday catalog. You will be able to order it ahead of time and get started on your Christmas cards early.
For this card I used one of the stamps in the set called Designer Tee. For the background I used some of the designer paper from the pack called Party Animal. It was bright and added to the fun card.
The last card uses the designer paper that can be found in the Sale a Bration brochure called Carried Away. This paper coordinates with a bundle called Lift Me Up.

Reminder of the pieces I used for Tuesday's Technique card. On Tuesday I spritzed over the pieces. Here is what I did for one of today's cards.
I took a sponge dauber and sponged over the cut out section of the thinlits. Some of the ink went over the edges so I did a little trimming to get this look.
When I saw the thinlits and how they looked after spritzing and sponging I thought they might look good on a card. So waste not want not this is what I came up with.
This set has really cute thinlits and some sayings that are written in a stylish script. I have had a lot of fun playing with So in Love this week. I hope you have gotten some inspiration from my cards.
And if anything you are stamping with comes up missing, don't forget to check under your laptop.
There are balloons, and clouds and tiny little stamps with matching thinlits and sayings. For my cards today I am showing how to attach the little accent pieces to the balloon with a matching saying.
First card I have attached the heart on top of the basket of the balloon. And conveniently there is a saying that matches. To add to the sentiment of the card, I embossed the background using the new Falling Petals embossing folder.
I always need Thank You notes and this card is perfect. The Thank You attaches to the basked on the bottom of the balloon and the saying says it all.
The final card for today uses another piece of the Carried Away designer paper as the background. The note is once again attached to the basket of the balloon. And the matching saying completes the card. As I was making the cards for today, I was thinking of other things that could be attached to the balloon basket.

If you saw yesterday's post I now have 17 cutting plates for my Big Shot that are absolutely flat. Well worth the time spent baking yesterday.
This is one of the cards we will be making March 6th in my Cool Treats class. I used it as a template to make some similar cards.
1. Same size card
2. Same saying on each card
3. Same banners
4. Washi tape on each card
For the first card I used Irresistibly Floral designer paper and embossed it with some pool party ink. I tried to make it look darker as I went down the card face to give it the Ombre look.
For my background on this card used a different paper in the Tasty Treats designer paper pack. For my accent I used the matching framelits to make a yummy looking ice cream cone. Chocolate of course. This paper is embossed in certain areas. You can see the shiny area on the card. Those are the areas that are embossed.
Different designer paper, color palate, and a large Popsicle as the accent. This design is embossed and could be brayered with an accent color.
The final design. I could have made several more switching designer papers, accents pieces and even sayings. A fun and fast way to make several similar cards.
So, today is Fix it Friday. I took one card from the class and changed the look of it for 2 other cards that are alternate sizes.
A square looking card with ribbon wrapped around the card base.
A standard sized card. I left off the ribbon and added some washi tape.
A gift card sized card. I used baker's twine instead of ribbon and make the bowl overlap the saying.

1. I added two backgrounds on the back of the Party Animal designer paper. The main card is cut from Crushed Curry which coordinates with the designer paper. The inside paper is actually the reverse side of the designer paper.
2. Instead of adding ribbon on the side, I made a knot of the Emerald Envy ribbon on the top layer of the card.
3. I attached one of the Party Animal embellishments to the know.
The looks are the same, but the projects can be used for totally different occasions.
It has been fun this week exploring the items in the Party Animal Suite.

One of the make n takes we made at OnStage in Madison,Wisconsin last November was this cute gift card. I used a lot of the new items from the Occasions catalog. At home using my Envelope Punch board, I made a matching envelope.
When thinking about Fix it Friday, I decided to try and take this cute design and turn it into a full sized card.
1. I enlarged the background paper so that is would fit on a full sized card.
2. I chose Crumb Cake for my card base because of the color of the accent piece on the card.
3. I added some Baker's Twine on the bottom of the card. How did I get that twin around the fold of the card? I punched a tiny hole in the fold and on the opposite edge so that the strands would be able to stay in place.
What a great week I had getting back into stamping and working with some products from the new catalog.
Next week I will be focusing on the Party Animal Suite. I will use each item that is meant to coordinate. So, come back Monday to see what Miscellaneous idea I will come up with.

This sheet of designer paper is so cute that it can make a card all by itself. I added a saying and a brown bow to match the bow already on the paper. Now to fix it up.....
By punching out circles I was able to show on this card most of the different designs that are featured in the designer paper pack. There are 12 sheets of paper. 2 each of 6 double sided papers.

Sometimes a simple card is all you need to say what you want to say. I have always loved the look of a black and white card. But what if you wanted to fix it up a little and add some gold and a shaker element?
Here is how I changed it up a little.
Added another tree and turned it into a shaker element.
Made a second merry in gold foil card stock and added it on top of the black merry
Added some cold stars
Make tiny ornaments on the tree using the Gold Wink of Stella.
It's has been a fun week that has helped me realize how easy it is to make shaker cards. Take a look at all the cards I made this week.

Oops, I never finished my post for today. So this card should look familiar. It was one of the templates from yesterday. How to fix it up a little?.......
1. Use a different background paper
2. Change a standard fold to a Gate fold
3. Add some linen thread
4. Stamp a saying on the inside
5. Finally use some designer paper to make it look like washi tape.
This last card was another card we made and the Vacation Stampin School in Champaign. I love how different the look can be when you change up little things.

I always like to have a few simple 3 by 3 cards on hand to include with gifts or use for thank you notes to customers. I think this butterfly is perfect for a stunning card...but my Friday dilemma is how to make this a little more detailed.
I found a card on Pinterest that used Spotlighting to make the butterfly look a little more detailed. I changed colors and how the word was displayed and added stars to make it my own. I like both looks don't you?
So now you see all the possibilities that can be made using my first impression stamp set In this World. What would you do with these stamps?

I received this card as a swap recently and liked the simpleness of the boat on the water with a sun over head. So how could I fix this?
I used just the stamps for this card. Can you see how I changed the card to make it look a little different?
1. The sun is double layered using two stamps one on top of each other.
2. The ocean is a swish inked once but stamped 3 times. This makes the ocean stand out a bit more than white on white.
3. The boat scene is the whole focus of the card instead of just a part of the card.
Both cards look really good and have a simple look. It is fun to see how you can change a card design using the same elements and make it look very different.
I had a lot of fun with Swirly Bird week.

Simple is good right? I like this card because there is not a lot too it, but it is still eye catching. So, how could I fix it to make it a little bit more eye catching?
You can see that I kept the same colors, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, and Delightful Dijon. I also kept the Woodgrain embossing folder and the styles of the leaves.
To make it a little more eye catching, I took a piece of water color paper and made my own background paper by painting a little of each one of the colors on the paper. Then I cut out the leaves. I stamped the solid leaf in Delightful Dijon ink and arranged the leaves around the saying.
Which card do you like the best? I personally like both of them.

This card should look familiar. It was one of the featured cards from yesterdays template cards. Here is how I fixed it....
1. First I added strips of the designer papers I used all week. My husband was not impressed, but I tried to layer the papers so they looked like sky, leaves, ground and grass.
2. Then I used the saying from the set called Me=Grateful. I stamped it and cut it up placing each part of the saying in a different section of the card.
3. I tied the ribbon to try and bring the parts together. It seemed to work for my husband so I guess that was a success.
Here is an over view of Serene Scenery week. It was fun to try and create cards that met each one of the categories for the week.

I loved this card as soon as I saw it. Simple but stunning. When I checked further I found the blog post for the card. The blog is called Stampin with Kristen. I decided to see how I could change some parts of the card but still keep it simple.
Here is how I changed it.....
1. Changed the red and green to Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.
2. Added a bit of designer paper from the new catalog called This Christmas. I love it
3. I used the greeting from Holly Jolly Greetings and the thinlit from Christmas Greetings. I was so glad these two items carried over into the new catalog.

I decided to fix up the card that was in the catalog. Can you see what I changed.
The direction of the card
Instead of a heart I decided to use a flower punch instead. I did however use a heart for the leaves.
The words are now under the focal flower instead of in the middle of the focal heart.
Both cards look good but I thought it was great fun to try to fix the card up and make it look a little more advanced.
Painter's Palette week is now over and I had such fun making the cards. I used most of the parts of the stamp set and am ready to take on a new stamp set next week.
Come back on Monday to see the stamp set that jumped out at me on my first look of the new catalog. I had everyone who came to my open house try and guess which stamp set it was. No one guessed correctly this year. If they had I would have purchased that stamp set for them.
