One of the designer papers I sometimes overlook is this one called Natural Composition. It is already embossed in clear designs. I think it helps make this such a simple but elegant looking card. Lots of fun elements are used here. The pearls make the card look feminine, but leaving them off and using a different accent border could change the card and make it look masculine.
NOTE: The embossing at the top of the card was done using the Framed Tulips embossing folder. The card measurement fits nicely inside the border so only one line of the folder shows on the cardstock.

Gorgeous Grunge was one of our convention stamps last year and I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I wasn't even sure what to do with it. But now, it is a favorite. I creates great accent pieces on a card like this one. Can't you see making this card and just changing the sentiment?

Who would you send this card to and for what occasion? I think I might send it to Abby for her part in the local spelling bee.
Do you like using designer papers? I like to use them because they coordinate so well with each other. For this card I used the Retro Fresh DSP for everything except the smallest flower. And the great thing about using the DSP is I could have created this very same card using different papers or different DSP all together and then see a different looking card.

I don't know about you but I love the colors of this card. The black and grey together are very sylish. Perfect card for a graduate male or female. Can you image making the same card and instead of black and grey using the school colors?

Another fun project from convention. We decorated the front of one of the Tag a Bag gift bags and tied it so that the ribbon would slide right off and the contents of the bag would be revealed. Inside the bag were 5 simply decorated cards with matching envelopes. They were all created with one of the stamp sets that we received at convention. This one is called Hello, Lovely and has so many wonderful components.
Can you guess what was used as the card base? The note card and envelope set, 20 cards with matching envelopes pre-cut and ready to go. It doesn't get much easier than that.
There were almost 6,000 people at convention this year since SU was celebrating 25 years as a company. So, I figured the make n take room would be pretty crowded and decided not to make the projects at convention. A couple of weeks ago I finally sat down and made the projects. This was a card with matching envelope I made with the free stamp sets we got at convention. Gorgeous Grunge was one of the stamp sets. I was not too sure how to use it until I made this project. Here's what I love about the project.
1. The colors are light and bright.
2. The different stamps in the set were used in a creative manner.
3. The accents on the card were simple and coordinated with the rest of the card.
What do you like about the card and matching envelope?
Who would have thought to turn the Mosaic punch into a flower? Connie Babbert, that is who. I found this card when I was browsing for Occasion cards and loved it. The background paper helped determine the colors of the flower and I love this combination. I changed Connie's card a little but kept most of it the way she designed it.

What color combinations would you choose to make a similar card/
Sometimes if you have a great saying, you do not need any more on your card. I felt this way when I found the Congratulations saying in the Layered Labels stamp set. And best of all I was able to cut out the saying using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and the new Magnetic Platform. There is something striking about a card that uses only one color and this one meets that criteria.

Why did I choose this card, designed by Bekka, for my Congratulation card class? I liked the simplicity, the use of the Occasions Alphabet set, and the focus on one color. What supplies did I use?

I LOVE this simple design that show off all the new in-colors. When I looked to see who the designer was I was not surprised to find out it was Mary Fish. All her cards have a clean and simple look to them. I chose this card for the Fill Your Card Box class because it could be used for a male or female. Which is your favorite new in-color?

After having company for the past 3 weeks, I am holding all my monthly classes in the same week. Busy me!! I had such fun looking on the Internet for samples for Congratulations cards. I think I enjoy looking for samples I like in the same way I loved doing the research in school of a topic. Of course, I had to look cards that featured Washi tape, one of my favorite embellishments. I found a card very similar to this one designed by Melissa Davies. I loved the brightness of the card and couldn't resist copying Melissa's design, then adding a touch or two of my own.
