  Why did I pick this card as my WOW card?

1. The Fresh Fig color is not a typical Christmas color.

2. The ornaments are cut out with the Big Shot and even though they are stamped as a group, they are able to be separated.

3. The string the ornaments are hanging from give this card a very different look.


I found a card very similar on Pinterest and posted by Karen Robinson, who runs a blog called little-paper-party.com.  Thanks Karen, for a great new color idea.

 Tomorrow I will show you how to take one look and turn it into something that can be used with a lot of cards.

April Paper Pumpkin-Lovely Little Wreath

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week.  I will be featuring a Paper Pumpkin kit each day and showing you alternative ways to use the set.

    Love this wreath, and the best part of making it was how easy it was.
This was the April Paper Pumpkin project.  When I was finished I was so surprised at how many leftovers I had.  So, I went to Pinterest and then tried my hand at being creative.  See what you think....

  I was inspired by a similar card I found on Pinterest with a blog address called www.barbstamps.com.  You can see that Barb used leftover wreath wrap to make the trees at the bottom.  I changed Barb's card by using a different saying in the set and adding some color to the saying.

 I loved the way  Stacy McCain at craftasticdayswithstacy used the negative image leftover from punching out the stem as a stencil.  All I changed from her sample was the flower and adding some candy spots.

 Now I was ready to do some of my own creating.  I used the leftover piece from punching out the leaves on the wreath as my background, stamped the flower that is a part of the stamp set and used the words Happy and Day from two of the stamp sets.

 I wondered if I could make a wreath out of the left over leaves and this is what I came up with.  The row of leaves has its own adhesive along the bottom which helped me create a circular effect.

Miscellaneous Monday-August Paper Pumpkin

   At first glance I thought the August Paper Pumpkin kit was kind of simple.  But, then I remembered the purpose of My Paper Pumpkin.  It was created for those people who love the idea of making cards on their own, but have never done it before.  They don't need complicated kits, just simple good looking card kits.  When I thought of it that way, then the August kit fully met the need it was created for.  So, for my first card I made it exactly the way it was described in the kit.

  And then I went on Pinterest.........

  And then I noticed Julie Davison's blog.......

  So, it just goes to show you that you can find a way to create cards in My Paper Pumpkin whatever your style.  The best thing about it is that all the supplies are in the box and you can have 4 great cards in a short amount of time.  No Cutting, no thinking, just plenty of creating.
