Country Home 3-D Thursday

 Have you ever seen something in the catalog that you wanted to copy for yourself?  I liked this framed art that can be found on page 42 of the Holiday catalog. I was prepared to have to adjust it to a rectangular frame, but when I went to the store, I found an 8 by 8 square frame.  Just the size I wanted.

On the demonstrator site, there is a document that lists all the supplies needed to recreate the projects found in the catalogs.  It also lists any techniques that are used.  When I looked at the picture I figured I would need to use a dauber to create the dark areas on the Tin Tile embossed area.

When I checked out the project, I found that first I needed to lightly sand the area and then apply the color in a circular motion over the sanded area.  I love how it looked when I was finished.

I also learned I could get the linen trim to be the color of Early Espresso by rubbing the side of my marker over the trim.  I was very happy with the result.

Tomorrow, I will share a Christmas card I made just using one of the sayings in this set.

Dashing Deer-3-D Thursday

   For 3-D Thursday, I decided to try out the Take Out Treats framelit.  It is small about 2 inches tall with a base of about 1 1/4 by 1 1/2.. I would fit some Lindor Truffles, or some M&M's, or Hershey Kisses. Can you tell I am a fan of chocolate?

I used copper foil to cut out the small deer for the front and the Joyous Noel designer paper for the box.  These would be fun to have as place settings for our family dinner at Christmas.

 The top folds together like a Chinese Food take out box. I think this is a really cute box and will probable try and find different ways to use it.  Hmm maybe for next week's 3-D.  Look for a video later on today on how to put this together.

Tomorrow, is the last day I will feature the Dashing Deer bundle and I still have not used all the parts of the bundle.  

I've been wrestling with spreadsheets all week, trying to get one created to hold my data from my business.  And boy have I learned a lot and realized today that I have a lot more to learn.  How are you with technology and forms?  I definitely learn by doing. Hopefully I can fix my problem tomorrow.

Simple Subtles-3-D Thursday Gift Bag Punch Board

I have been doing some deep cleaning in my stamping room and made a few discoveries.  I found the Gift Bag Punch board and realized that I had not made anything with it for ages.  So, here goes for today.

There are directions written right on the punch board which is most helpful. There is a lot of leaway on how you want the gift bag to look.

The width can be anywhere from 10, 11 or 12".
The length can be anywhere from 4-12 inches.  That is quite a range.

I made my width 12" which is the large size. And I made my length 8".
I can't wait to try different sizes out of different kids of paper.

I am about 80% finished with getting my stamping room in order.  It is now the hard part.  Trying to decide whether or not to keep something and if I keep it where on earth do I put it.  I shall overcome this problem!

Falling for Leaves-3-D Thursday-Card Holder

 Do you own the Envelope Punch board?  Do you use it?  Did you know it can be used for more than just an envelope?

You can make a card holder from the envelope punch board for just about any sized card you want to make. Check out this video to learn the technique.

 

So something happened when I made this Facebook Live and the video ended up sideways.  I think I have that problem resolved.  Bear with my learning curve.

 Thursdays will be 3-D Thursday.  These items will help you see something different you can make with your stamping supplies other than a card. Look for a new 3-D item each Thursday.

3-D calendar convention swap

     I finally have all my swaps finished for convention next week.  This may be the first time I have been finished so early.  This is the front of the 3-D swap I made.  I had some calendars that I meant to use back in January and you know how that goes.  I used .......

    When you open up the calendar...

   You find more flowers on the inside that are attached using dimensionals and make a shelf that allows you to prop the calendar open.
   In case you are wondering the months January through June make a great place to take small notes.

Balloon Bash-3-D Thursday

     Do you wonder how I made this cute candy holder?  I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit die.  But, you might wonder to yourself it should be a lot bigger than that.  While I was at Leadership with Dina and Karen we started wondering if there was a way to make a skinny bag that would hold a Hershey bar.  So, here is what I did.....

1. I cut two pieces of the small part of the treat bag. 

2. I then attached them together using sticky strip.

3. The finished result measures 2 1/8 by 5 inches.  So,it is not big enough to hold a regular Hershey bar, but most definitely could hold a mini.

4. To finish off the bag, I used another stamp from the Balloon Bash stamp set, but two banners using the thinlit that goes with the Mini Treat bag set, and tied a bow with the matching ribbon from the Sale a Bration catalog.

Anything But a Card 3-D Thursday

     What would you place inside this cute box?  I love the Curvy Keepsakes box and found this idea for a Santa box.  This was one of the items my stampers made in the Anything But a Card class.  I loved it so much that Linda and I made 12 boxes to take to Knollwood this month as a Christmas gift for the ladies I stamp with.

White Christmas-3-D Thursday

    
     Gift tags are fun and easy to make and great to have on hand ready to use.  The Scalloped and Angled tag topper punches help making tag making fast and easy. The box the tag is attached to was made using the Gift Box punch board.  The Polar Bear on the tag was made using the White Christmas stamp set. This week so far I have used 7 stamps from this great and versatile stamp set. 

Holiday Home 3-D Thursday

     I found this adorable luminary on the Stampin'Up! website and decided it would be perfect to include in my Anything But a Card class for December. 

     The luminary is made from stamping on Vellum 4 times, making a simple base and then including a flameless tea light inside. I colored my house on the back side of the vellum using my Blendabilities. 

     The matching box is made using the Gift Box Punch board.  The tag is made using the Nordic Noel designer paper. If you love the idea of making this cute gift, then come to my class on December 6th and make as many as you would like to give to friends this Christmas.

Freaky Friends-3-D Thursday

    This cute little box was made using the new Gift Box Punch Board.  It is the littlest size you can make and uses a 6 by 6 sheet of paper.  I am picturing some M& M's or a couple Hershey Treasures inside.  This was one of the choices stampers could choose from at my Hooray for Halloween class.

 

I used the new Kraft paper to cut out the box, but decorated it using Versa Mark and one of the stamps from the Holiday Invitation stamp set.

Kinda Eclectic Notebook-3-D Thursday

   Don't you love having a little notebook in your purse for when you need to jot down something important.  I use one to write down titles of books someone has recommended or movies I want to see.  This little notebook was one of the make n takes at convention this year.  And once again it uses the stamp set Kinda Eclectic.  What would you use this cute little notebook for?

Curvy Keepsakes Box Pumpkin-3-D Thursday

 
 One of the intriguing items in the Holiday Catalog is the Curvy Keepsakes Box.  You need to cut out two of the framelits to make one box.  I have to admit when I first looked at it in the catalog I thought it looked like it might be hard to make.  But I used my QR reader and watched this video on how to use the framelit and I thought it might be easy.  Then, I went on Pinterest and looked at all the wonderful samples people were making using the box and decided then and there is was a must have!!

  I found this pumpkin on Cindy Wilkinson's blog, Just Sponge it, and wanted to make one of my own just like it. Does it look hard to make, well it is not.

1. You will need a full sheet of card stock to make one box.  Just cut out the framelit two times.

2. Glue the base together.  I used the new fusion tape.  It worked well.  The only thing to remember when using that tape is that when you are done taping, you stop taping like you are making a check mark.  

3. Pull up the edges with the loops until they meet and then bring the edges with the slits over the top of the loops.  No more glue needed and your box is finished.

New Gift Card Holder-3-D Thursday

 
   Don't you love finding ways to make life a little easier?  I think this gift card holder is one of those ways.  It is a framelit that can be cut from a 6 inch square piece of card stock or designer paper.  I used the All is Calm designer paper from the Holiday Catalog.  Tags, a heart and circle come along with the framelit.  What would you need a circle for you might ask?

  

  Check out the back of the holder and see the circles used as a way to close the holder.  I can think of a lot of times I would be able to use this.  But... if you are anything like I am you like the idea of being able to use this for something else.

   Check out the cover for this box.  Yes, it is the gift card holder flattened out to cover a box.  You might wonder what size you should make the box.  Well, I also have that information for you.

Box size  6 5/8 by 7 7/8 inches
Score each side at 2 inches and your box will fit nicely underneath the lid.
