Animal Outings-Fancy Fold Friday

I had so much fun using all the animals from this set (except for the frog) along the folded edges in this cards.

1. First I scored the card stock in half, then at 2 1/8" on one half.  I did this to 2 sheets of card stock. I then folded on the scores lines till I have a fold like above. The two cards are glued together. I trimmed the piece that is on the inside 1/8" on the left side.

2.  Next, I put the top fold through the embossing folder using the Layered Leaves folder. I wanted to images to stand out a bit more so I ran a Versa mark pad over the top.

3. I stamped, cut out and colored each animal.  Two are attached on the left hand side and one of the right hand side.  Make sure that you only glue half of each animal onto the folded edge.

Finally, add a saying on the inside.  I also stamped some leaves using Versa Mark.  I just wanted a subtle look.

What fun I had this week.  Is this bundle now on your wish list.  I received the stamp set at the last On Stage I went to in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Once I got the matching framelits, I have really had fun using the set.  Not just for kids.

Next week I will be featuring cards for my Brilliant Brights class on July 20th.  Each card will feature the colors in the Brights family. Come back and see how well the colors in this family go together.

If you decide to take advantage of the Join the fun offer of a family of ink pads, and stamps of your choice, you could have this bundle and the brights along with $80 more. Click on the link above for more details.

Hope your summer is going great with some time for creating,
Till Monday,

Animal Outings-Template Thursday

Isn't this background great?  I decided to cut it out several times and use it with the giraffe image for my template this week.

Simple Card
Framelit image for background
One of the animals
Saying

The card base is Soft Suede with a strip of Crushed Curry behind it.

The framelit is the one that looks like the fur pattern on a giraffe.
So, of course I used the giraffe image.
I thought Wild about You would be a great saying to include on the card.

For my second card I took the leaf stalk and cut it out 5 times. It is cool because not all the leaves cut out, some just partially so you can lift them off the paper.

I backed the Call Me Clover cardstock with Lemon Lime twist as a contrast.

I used the cute little frog images and had them perched on the leaves.  I figured these could be some kind of a water plant. I only stamped part of the branch these frogs are perched on and cut the frog off separately.

Since there are 3 frogs, I decided to use the saying Thank You Big Time. Little critters, big saying.

Tomorrow, I will share a fold I found by watching a video from Jennifer McGuire.  I love watching her videos.  She has great ideas that are using Stampin'Up! products, but easy to duplicate.

Find some time to create something today.
Happy Stamping,
Sushi

Animal Outings-Technique Tuesday

I saw a card like this on Pinterest and decided I wanted to make one like it.

1. I loved the sihouette look of the Kangaroo and the tree.

2. I thought the background would look great as a sunrise, sunset.

3. I like masking the moon and then stamping the tree over it.

4. Finally, I like using the word amazing since a beautiful sunrise or sunset is amazing to me.

Masking

You may have masked before but in case you have not it is very simple.

1. Punch the moon shape that you want from a Post-It-Note making sure the sticky part is on the shape somewhere.  Did you know you can get post it notes that are sticky all over.  I have ordered some and think they will be great for masking.

2. Sponge the colors you want all over your background including over the post it note.

3. Remove the post it note. You now have a moon and can stamp the tree on top.

I cut out the Kangaroo using the matching thinlit. and fussy cut a mound for the tree to stand on.

Tomorrow, I will share a card I made that became a WOW card by having several interesting parts to the card.  Are you loving this bundle yet?  I had such fun using every single item in the bundle for my blog this week.  Don't miss a day.

Till tomorrow,
Find some time to stamp.

Animal Outing-Make it Simple Monday

There is something so cute about this stamp set.  I know it might be intended for kids, but it has really touched the kid in me.  I chose this card for Make it Simple Monday for these reasons......

1. Simple background.  I stamped Happy Birthday matching the edge of the stamp with the edge of the card.  I inked the stamp once every 2 or 3 times of stamping.

2. One simple focal point the Rhino.  I colored it and the bird in using my Stampin Blends.

3. A simple accent from the Layered Squares Framelit set.

Can't you see how simple it would be to copy these steps with another stamp and have another great simple card.

I popped up the Rhino with dimensionals to raise it from the background a little.

Come back tomorrow to see a simple technique you can use to make a beautiful sunset.

Till then, Happy Stamping Wishes from
