You Brighten My Day-Scrappin Saturday

     I love how the arrow punch makes the perfect little house when used with this stamp set.  I have a friend that just moved into a house and I thought this card would be the perfect one to send as a congratulations.  I got inspired to make this card by one I saw on Pinterest but I added a few touches to make it my own.
   My sister Barb had an inspirational thought she shared with me the other day.  I was telling her that I did not think of myself as being very creative.  She said maybe I meant I was not very original, because looking at something for inspiration and then creating something different from that idea is very creative.  So, if you don't think of yourself as creative maybe you too should rethink it with Barb's comment in mind.
   Next week I am going to focus on the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits because there are so many things you can do with that set.

Best Day Ever-Scrappin Saturday

      Do you like using designer paper in your cards as much as you see me use it?  The paper that is in the Sale a Bration catalog this year has wonderful springy colors and great watercolor look designs.  I wanted to find a way to showcase as many of the designs as I could in my card for today.  Since we have oodles of circle punches I went at it.  I also thought I could cut up the saying BEST DAY EVER to make it look a little bit different.  What occasions can you think of to send this card to someone?

   In case you did not realize it the colors used in this card are this year's in-colors.  You are probably wondering who made this card and posted it on Pinterest.  Well, Tami White did.  She is one of the demonstrators for Stampin'Up! who has achieved $1,000,000 in lifetime sales.  Wow is all I can say about that.

Work of Art-Scrappin Saturday

     Is it snowing where you live?  We need some snow in order to make a cute snowman.  But, if you live in a place with little snow, just make a snowman card instead.  We made this card at my last Fill Your Cardbox class a week or so ago.  I found it on Pinterest and chose it because it is another creative way to use the stamp set Work of Art.  I will be featuring this stamp set this week and thought this would be a great card to start the week off. 
    Can you see where the scrap is?  I keep small scraps of ribbon to use on a card just like this one.  

Anything But a Card-Scrappin Saturday

     Nothing looks better on a present than a handmade tag.  With your handmade tag your gift wrap paper can be very plain. To help them out, each stamper made 3 simple tags that could easily use leftover scraps.
All 3 tags used our new tag topper punches.  Love how easy it is to make great tag toppers.

Holiday Home-Scrappin Saturday

     My friend Linda recently moved into a new house and I knew I wanted to use Holiday Home to make her a card.  

1. Since her house was white I chose Soft Sky as the card base color.

2. I wanted the extra houses to fade into the background so I stamped them in Soft Sky also.

3. Next came the scrap paper house.  I stamped it in Memento ink so I could color parts of the house using my Blendabilities.

    I think that Linda and her family will enjoy this card don't you?

Freaky Friends-Scrappin Saturday

  How is this for a final card sample using Freaky Friends?  I used my 1 3/8 inch punch to find 9 circles that featured my favorite parts of the Motley Friends designer paper.  The cat and bats were made with stamps from the featured set, and the saying is from the Good Greetings stamp set.  This has been a fun week for me to play around with a great Halloween stamp set. 

  Next week, I will be featuring My Paper Pumpkin kits and all the alternative cards I have made with the supplies.  I am finally getting caught up.

Kinda Eclectic-Scrappin Saturday

3rd card the Super Snails of the Year will be receiving made using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.

   Do you save your scraps of card stock and designer paper?  I do unless the piece is less than 1/2 inch wide.  This card has several items on it that could be made from scraps.

1. Butterflies from scraps of vanilla card stock

2. Large oval of vanilla could be a scrap, just make sure you stamp first then punch out your oval.

3. The Wisteria Wonder Decorative Label punch was made with a small scrap.

   So, if you have been throwing out your scraps, you might think about saving them in a small folder right next to your full sheets of card stock.  You never know when you might be able to use them.

Holiday Home card-Scrappin Saturday

   Do you save all your card stock pieces?  I do except for the ones that are smaller than 1/2 and inch.  This card would be a great one to use some of your leftover pieces.  I got the idea from our demonstrator magazine called Stampin Success.  It has several parts to the card that I love.

1. The stamp set called Holiday Home.  It is photopolymer, multi seasonal, and cute!

2. The tiny scraps of card stock used to create the hills.

3. That there is a matching framelit set to cut out the houses.

Scrappin Saturday-Designer paper leftovers

    Some of the designer paper has such cute designs that you can make a simple card but attractive card just using leftover scraps. This is one of the latest cards I had my ladies at Knollwood make.  They loved the look of the card.  I had everything they needed to make the card in the envelope including the punched out stars.

Scrappin Saturday-Knollwood scrap card

    What do you do with leftover scraps of designer paper?  I save mine, but sometimes they just accumulate.  Well, when I went to Knollwood last week I thought of a way to use some of those scraps.  The ladies loved the card I created and had fun making their version.

Supplies used:

Scraps from a very old designer series paper stack
Card stock from retired in-colors
Flower punches
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
Window punch

  There were lots of pieces but very little stamping.  A perfect combination for my  Knollwood Retirement Village stamping friends.

Scrappin' Saturday-Project Life at the Library

   Have you heard about Project Life?  It is way to scrapbook for those who want lots of pictures in an album but don't have either the desire, money,  nor the time to put lots of time and supplies into a scrapbook page.  I like the idea for some of my pictures and decided to try it out with my Stampin in the Stacks ladies.  We met in February to make cards.  Two of the ladies had never made a card before but turned out to be very creative.  I took pictures of each person's card, and the group and made a page layout in about 10 minutes.  I think I have several other pictures I can scrap in this manner.

Here is what I like about the Project Life materials.
1.  Pictures just slide into pockets that have a side opening. You can round the corners of the pictures to give them a special look.

 

2. You can choose journaling cards that are designed to fit in two different directions and use them to tell the story of the pictures.

3. You can add dates and other items to your pictures and journaling cards to help tell the story.

  I think I am going to print off some pictures of my other stamping events and include them in a scrapbook of stamping adventures.  What would you scrapbook if you had pages like this?

Scrappin Saturday-Using up your DSP

     I swapped a card with Gracelyn at the Jubilant Butterflies meeting and decided I wanted to use it for a Thank You card.  What appealed to me most was the tiny strip of designer paper that was at the bottom of the card.  Now who does not have leftover pieces of designer paper that are 1/4 in thick.  I love when I can make use of all the parts of my paper, don't you?

Scrappin Saturday-Fall Layout

  It seems I can not get enough of the Sweater Weather designer paper.  I decided to use it for the second layout we did in October in Scrapbook Your Life class.  The strips and squares were a great way to use some of the smaller pieces I had.  The leaves were cut out using the Autumn Accents big shot die.

  Once everyone sorted the leaves out by color they used the Grateful Grunge stamp set to add some depth to the leaves and background paper.

  I found some great pictures of a camping trip Sam and I took to the Red River Gorge for these pages.  I am proud of myself that I am keeping up with my scrapbookers and completing each page as I make it.

Scrappin Saturday-Halloween Layout

I love how one sheet already had Halloween words on it.

     One of the layouts we made in Scrapbook Your Life had to be a Halloween layout since it was October, right.  I wanted to use some of the Witches Brew designer paper, and the Witches Brew washi tape.  Here is the layout I came up with.

It was so easy to add accent pieces with the Witches Brew washi tape.



I had to use the spider web from the Bite Me stamp set.

Now that my pictures are mostly organized I was able to quickly look through them and find pictures of me in costume over the years.  I think they fit into the layout just fine.

Scrappin Saturday-Using up Little pieces

     Here is our latest creation.  Linda comes up with the ideas and I help her put the creations together.  I think we make a great team.  Don't you love how the antlers are the candy canes.  This made the reindeer a little top heavy so we put a tiny kit kat bar on the inside.  Now they stand up.  Other than the body can you see all the scraps we used to make this creature.

     The original sample we were copying had a jack-o-lantern face on the pumpkin, but without the face this could be a great table decoration for Thanksgiving.  Can you guess what is in the inside of this pumpkin?  If you guessed a dum dum sucker then you were correct.

   This has been so much fun we are wondering what holiday we can make things for next.

Scrappin Saturday-Using up Scraps

    
     Today is the day that I was hoping to have a new scrapbook layout to share.  But, I don't quite have one ready.  So, I thought scrappin could also mean using little scraps of paper for a project.  So that is what I did.  Linda came over and we made these darling snowmen treat holders.  Can you see all the scraps we used?  Do you wonder what we have inside each little snowman?  Well, we used Kit Kat mini bars, but anything that size would fit in just fine.
