Christmas Pines redu Miscellaneous Monday

  Last week was a week of technology issues.  I hope they are resolved and I can keep up with my blog this week.  I have decided to try another week with this lovely stamp set Christmas Pines.

Today I just used the stamps and they are as cool as the thinlits.  The pinecone can be a two step stamp.  I stamped the solid image in Crumb Cake, and the actual seed part of the cone in Chocolate Chip.  I might have chosen that particular brown because I made chocolate chip cookies last night and had them on my mind.

The branches are made with Garden Green and Always Artichoke.  The card is called a Z fold and will most likely be the topic of my next you tube video.

Fancy Folds Birthday card

     This looks like a really cute card to send someone on his or her birthday.  I have several grandkid birthdays coming and think this card will work for them. I learned how to make this card at the Spring Into Stamping event I went to recently. Does it look hard to make?  Maybe, but it is very easy.

1. Cut on piece of card stock in half making each half at the 5 1/2 inch mark. You will need one of these.

2. Cut another piece of card stock of the same color the long way at the 4 1/4 inch mark.  You will need one of these.

3. Score the first piece at 2 1/8 from each side

4. Score the second piece at 2 3/4 from each side.

5.  The pieces should fit on top of each other with piece number one on the bottom and piece number two on the top.  fold the pieces together like you would the top of a box.

     The inside can be decorated with a cute design that can be viewed when the card is opened up.  Who would you send this card to? What stamp set would you use for the message?

Hidden Message folded card

  I learned how to make this card at a Jubilant Butterflies meeting a while ago.  It looks pretty basic, but there is a hidden flap that you pull out to the left that reveals a hidden message.

   You might wonder what stamp I used to get the scalloped oval underneath the banner on the front of the card.  I used one of the stamps in the Everything Eleanor stampset, which could have been cut out using a Framelit from the Apothecary Accents set.  But, instead of the framelit I used the scalloped oval punch and covered the original saying with the banner.  You can do most anything you want with any stamp, just try!

Butterfly Pop-Up

  I found a wonderful tutorial on how to make this butterfly pop-up card. After I made the butterfly I wanted to mount it on a card base.  I popped up the butterfly with dimensionals to make it easier to pop up.

   I used the new in-colors for the card and am loving them more and more each time I use them.

Black and White Fancy folded card

  Don't you just love the look of a black and white card?  I think they are so very striking.  When I decided to create this card for my Fancy Fold Technique class, I used a design I had learned at the Spring Into Stamping event held last April.  I think all the designs in the Modern Medley designer paper pack look wonderful with this technique.  Looks hard, so easy

1.  Cut your accent piece into a 4 inch square.

2. Score the paper at 2, 2 3/4 inches on each side.

3. Accordian fold the paper and now you have a wonderful frame you can place anything inside.

I used the Flower Shop stamp set to create the flower I placed inside my frame.

   Doesn't this sound much simplier than it looks/
