Cafe Card Creations-Painted Harvest Bundle

Did you notice these Acetate card boxes in the Holiday catalog?  There are great for gifting cards to people.  I have also found out the following can be placed inside the boxes...

Giordelli chocolates
testtubes filled with candy

You can emboss the boxes on the front by running it in the embossing folder.

And the most obvious.  Each box will hold 5 cards and envelopes.

1. I placed a belly band around the box
3 inches by 11 of the card stock
2 1/2 inches by 12 of the designer paper

2. I glued one edge the same on both pieces of paper and then wrapped it around the box as a unit. I attached the pieces together on the back of the box, making sure there was enough give that the belly band could be slid off and on the box.

So this is the end of the October Card Cafe Creations.  In case you are not sure what a Card Cafe involves.  It is a class I offer once a month.

1. There are 4 card designs all using the same bundle.  Stampers make two of each design.

2. If they RSVP by the date of the class they get to make a 5th project. In October it will be the card box.

3. If they wish to purchase the bundle the day of the class, then the class is free.

Next week I will be featuring the projects you can make in my Hooray for Halloween class. Stop by and see them.  And if you like what you see on my blog, please follow my blog.

Card Cafe Creations-Painted Autumn Designer paper

Don't you love the colors in this sheet of Painted Autumn designer paper.  I have always been drawn to the fall colors.  This card is very easy to create.

1. Two colors of card stock, and one piece of designer paper.

2. Another saying from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

3. Layered shapes.  Everyday Label punch, Layering ovals both plain and scalloped edges

4. The final touch is a flower and leaves from the Touches of Nature Elements.

You don't need a lot of stamping when the designer paper is so elegant.

The final project I am featuring this week is an Acetate Card box that will hold all these cards and envelopes.

Card Cafe Creations-Painted Autumn designer paper

See how easy it would be to create this card.

1. Card Base Tangerine Tango cut in the standard card size
5 1/2 by 8 1/2.

2. The pumpkin sheet from the Autumn Harvest designer paper cut
4 3/4 by 3 1/2.

3. A strip for the saying cut 1 inch by 4 inches.  The stamped saying is from the set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  Notice the extra pumpkins.  They were cut from the card stock.

You could actually use most of the designer paper in the pack to create new cards similar to this one.  What a great gift for someone, several birthday cards ready to go.

Tomorrow I am going to show you another card where the designer paper is the main feature of the card. Check back to see it.

Cafe Card Creations- Painted harvest Bundle

Can you see the word Fall kind of jump out of this card?  This is created using a technique called the Eclipse Technique.  I think it was named that because you can see a tiny bit of the Early Espresso under each letter.

You might wonder how this is created.

1. First you take your top layer and stamp all over it with whatever stamp you want to use.

2. Next you think of a word you would like to emphasize on the card.  Use the Large Letter Framelits or something similar to cut out your word.  Save all pieces even the insides of the A in my card.

3. Attach adhesive strips to each letter and then place it back in the card.  It will be easy to replace because of your stamping.  Do not put adhesive strip on your inside pieces (like on my A). These will be glued on top of the card base.

Now you have a great looking card that was so much easier to make than it looks.  I hope you will try to make an Eclipse card of your own.  I would love it if you attached a photo in the comment section of this blog.

Tomorrow's card will feature the designer paper for a very simple but great looking card.

Card Cafe Creations-Painted Harvest Bundle

Are you in love with this set yet?  It was the first one to get my attention when I opened the Holiday Catalog.  I have to say I keep seeing more great ways to use the stamp set.  In addition there is a wonderful leaf punch that punches out the leaf stamp. And finally the coordinating designer paper is my favorite in the Holiday catalog.

1. The stamp set is multi layered and has an unfinished look to the first layer.  That is intentional, but if it bothers you, you can re ink the stamp and rotate the stamp before stamping a second time.  The second layer creates a detailed petal.  The amazing thing about this stamp set is that you can use just one color, or two different colors to create the sun flower.

2. The leaf is also multi layered.  I find I am most successful if I stamp the detailed stamp first in a darker color.  Then when I stamp the solid stamp I have something to see that helps me place the second stamp better.

3. The punch is handy to punch out the leaves.  Be sure and stamp the image close to an edge of the card stock.  It makes the punching so much easier.

4. The designer paper coordinates with an awesome color combination.
Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Lemon-Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango.
Wow some of these colors, I never would have put together, but they look great when you do.

Tomorrow I will show you a great technique I learned about at an event I went to in Champagne.

Holiday Catalog Launch Party-Treat Bags

This cute treat is made with the Seasonal Charms stamp set.  There is a reindeet, a snowman and a pumpkin in the set.  The stamps can be used as tags on a package, or as a treat holder as seen above.  What treat might fit in this bag?

How about an Hershey Kiss?

Well, that was a small treat so how about another treat also.

The treat is made with the 2 by 8 cellophane bags found in the annual catalog.  And the topper is the Pumpkin from the Seasonal Chums stamp set.  These stamps are great because there is a front and a back on the stamp. The tiny bit of designer paper is from the Spooky Night designer series paper.  One side is definitely Halloween and the other side can be for any other occasion.

Love the vines on the back side of the pumpkin.

The third project you will make is a bookmark, because not everything has to be about candy.

I love the cat punch and I don't even own a cat.  There are some cat images on the designer paper that can be cut out using this punch.  That is great and saves a lot of cutting.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these stamped items we will be making at our Holiday Catalog Launch Party.  If you are in the area be sure and stop by.

Next week I will be posting the cards you can make at my Card Cafe Creations for October.

Holiday Catalog Launch Party-Carols of Christmas

I love the tiny 3 by 3 cards.  Don't you?

1. They make perfect gift cards.
2. I use them in orders as thank you cards.
3. Out of one sheet of 12 by 12 paper you can make 8 cards.
4. Than can be mailed if you place them in a standard envelope.
5. You can use the envelope punch board to make a matching envelope if you wish.

The trees and the deer in the Carols of Christmas set work perfectly on a 3 by 3 card don't you think.

By now you should be able to guess that you can make this card at the Holiday Launch Party to be held on Saturday, September 16th from 10-3.

Tomorrow I will share a note card you will be able to create using the Painted Harvest stamp set. Check it out.

Holiday Catalog Launch Party-Christmas Quilt stamp set

What are your favorite colors for Christmas?  Mine are and I think always will be Red and Green.  And I really like the bright red and green best as are seen in this card.

One of the things I like to do other than make cards and stamp of course, is the sew.  When I saw this quilt card I was thrilled.  I send birthday cards to all the members of a quilt guild I belong to and this set will be especially appreciated by all the members.

Here's a few things I like about the set.

1. The outline that looks like stitching is a separate stamp and because it is photopolymer it is very easy to place over the quilt image.

2. The embossing folder called Quilt Top makes the stamped images look as though they have been quilted.

3. I love the cursive font especially since my cursive is not at all recognizable.

This card will be at one of the make n take tables at the Holiday Catalog Launch party help on Saturday.

Tomorrow I will feature a gift card you can make using the Carols of Christmas thinlits. Come back and take a peak

  Isn't this simple card great!

1. The Burlap background folder was stamped first.

2. The layer was then embossed with the Winter Wonder Textured embossing folder.

3. In order to make the image pop, the image was then lightly rubbed with sand paper.

4. The saying is from the set called Hearts Come Home, and the cute little snowflake is from the set called Snowflake Sentiments.

5. The final element is one of the Gold Faceted Gems.

Card Cafe Creations-Colorful Seasons

An amazing card for an amazing person.  This had a Japanese look to me with the moon and the peach blossom flowers on a delicate branch.

1. Punch out a circle the size you would like for the moon.
2. Attach it to the paper will something that is not permanent.
3. Use a brayer and roll it all over the background paper.
4. Pull off your circle and there is your moon.

I found this card on Pinterest from a blog called Stamp with Amy K.

Next week look for some cards made with some of my favorite stamps from the Holiday Catalog.  If you do not have your catalog by now, contact me and I will make sure you receive one.

Thanks for stopping by at Sushi Stamps.
