Nan Catches Up

Bokeh technique, you should be able to see her circles of white.

My sister Nan is one of my downline and even though she lives in Oregon participates in my monthly downline challenge.  Recently she got herself caught up and mailed me her samples of our last few challenges.
Crystal effects reinker, the butterfly is made using this technique done on a window sheet.
Waxed Paper Embossing

Bubble blowing technique.  Makes a great background for the saying.

I think Nan did a great job, what do you think?  Which one is your favorite?

Enjoy the Little Things project kit

I had so much fun making up the pieces of the Enjoy the Little Things project kit.  I was not sure what the easel to hold the pieces might look like.  I was pleasantly surprised.

1. The press board is about 1/4 inch thick and held together with sturdy cording.

2. The pieces were very easy to make.

3. All the supplies were included except for ink, adhesives, and the stamp pad.

I have already figured out how to show off the pieces each month.  And am planning to hold a class in March where stampers can make their own set using my ink, adhesives, and stamp set.  Can't wait to share this at my Open House this coming weekend.

Snow Place for Knollwood

This card will be featured at my Love Buffet card class.  I wanted to use something like this for my class at Knollwood Retirement Village, but knew using the Big Shot to cut out all these pieces would not be practical since most of the ladies use a walker to get to the table we where we make cards.
So here is how I changed the card.......

 1. The ladies did not round the corners, too hard.

2. They stamped the penguin, then the scarf and earmuffs on top of the penguin.  They loved how it looked.

3. Finally we placed a multi layered snowflake in the upper right hand corner.  I did punch that out ahead of time and included it in their envelope.

4. They love birthday cards so I changed the saying.

At the end of the class Mary said, we should have made a Valentine's card.  I have to admit I did not even think of that since I have been stuck in cold, snowy January.

Birthday at Knollwood

Last week I went to Knollwood to stamp with my friends that live at the retirement village.  Each lady got an envelope and inside the envelope were the following supplies.....

1. pre-cut designer paper
2. pre-punched flowers
3. 3 centers for the flowers that were attached to a glue dot

I helped the ladies stamp the saying and then punched it out for the card.  Each lady chose which side of the designer paper they wanted to use and made the card look different according to each ladies ideas.
Hank had never come to my class before and told me she could not make any cards because of her arthritis.  I showed her my knuckles and told her I would help.  At the end of the class she had a big smile on her face and told me she would be sure to come to my class next month.

Enjoy the Little Things project kit

One of the things I like about each Stampin'Up! catalog is the fact they feature several kits.  This is one page from the kit in the new Occasions catalog called Enjoy the little things.

1. There are 13 pages in this kit.  Each one very different from the other.

2. All the supplies that you need to make each kit are included except for some adhesives.

3. The easel the pages clip onto is thick and very sturdy.

I found a way to organize them so that I could display one each month of the year which I love to do.  The extra page I plan to display the week of a birthday.
Do you think this is something you might enjoy making and displaying?  Well, I am having a kit class in March.  Make your reservation now so that all you supplies will be ready for you in March.

Project Life pages

When any one of my grandkids turns 10 they get to spend a week all by themselves with me.  Brayden turned 10 in June and was excited that it was his turn.  We started out camping then came to my house for some more fun.  I took lots of pictures and made him a scrapbook to remember the week.

1. We each  journaled about each day, which I then typed up using a different color for each person.

2. I looked through my Project Life boxes and found different embellishments and saying cards that fit with the pictures.

3. I used some of the grided journaling cards to add some extra thoughts about the pictures.

Brayden loved the book and so did I so of course I made a second copy to have at my house.
So even though Project Life has its own pocket pages, you can incorporate some of the product on your own pages.

It's My Party Treat Purse

I made several of these darling gift card holders for Christmas.  When I was thinking of what I could use for Valentine treat holders I thought the purse could hold a mini Hershey bar ( there goes that chocolate obsession again).  I found the directions and a really great video on Jackie Topa's website.  Click here to view the video.
I made the purse from one of the papers in the It's My Party designer paper stack and the flower from a paper in the Love Blossoms paper stack.  It was great to find how they went together so easily.
What would you put in this cute purse?

Groovy Love Yogurt container treat bag

What does the shape of this treat holder look like to you?  It is called a yogurt box and is supposed to look like a container of yogurt.  And best of all it is easy to make.

1. Take a 6 by 6 piece of paper (I used the new Love Blossoms paper stack.)

2. Put a strong glue or sticky tape on the bottom and one of the sides.

3. Fold one side onto the other to form a tube.

4. Pinch the bottom of the tube and if you have a crimper crimp that bottom edge to help the tape hold better.

5. Place your goodies inside the tube and crimp the top in the opposite direction to make the yogurt container.  Crimp this edge also.  Decorate the rest of the container in any way you wish.( I used the stamp set called Groovy Love and the heart punch)

I would have to put some kind of chocolate inside mine, what would you put in yours?

Lovely Amazing You

Who doesn't LOVE chocolate?  I have even learned to love dark chocolate and when I learned that it is healthy to eat some every day, I loved it even more. Can you see the Hershey chocolate bars on the card?  When I asked my husband what they looked like to him, he said, bricks.  I guess he does not see chocolate everywhere like I do.

How to make the chocolate bar?

1. Punch out four I inch squares of brown paper

2. Cut them in half and sponge around them with the same color ink

3.  Glue them evenly on a piece of brown paper 2 1/2 by 2 1/4 inch and you have your miniature Hershey chocolate bar.

I will have to make several of these cards because as much as I love chocolate, there are lots of people in my life I love more!

Snow Place

Happy New Year everyone.  We had a wonderful time last night with my brother and sisters and niece, laughing till our sides hurt, playing games, and eating till our sides split.  Now, it is time to chill.
I love this stamp set and matching framelit.  It reminds me of playing with paper dolls as a child. I send out my best wishes for a healthy and happy new year.
