We Must Celebrate-Fun Friday

I saw a similar card on Pinterest and thought it was so cute to have the animals peaking out from each one of the shapes. In order to get the saying in the top shape I actually cut the saying in half.

Next week I will be sharing cards made with the set called Bird Banter.  Don't forget to leave a comment on my site and I will send you a card as a thank you.

Have a great weekend, see you on Monday. (I promise I will not be cutting a lot of card stock.)  I actually will be flying to Ohio to walk in the MS walk with my daughter Jen and her family.  Jen was diagnosed with MS over 4 years ago and we enjoy walking as a family to support this cause.

So can you guess what the template is?

1. Wood Textures designer paper which I am happy to share is carrying over into the new catalog!!!!!

2. Two ovals of the layering ovals

3. An animal juggling an item.

Don't you think juggling these snails is a cute idea.  I might have to duplicate this card for my team members.

Are you ready for Fun Friday?  I think the card for tomorrow was maybe the most fun to make.

We Must Celebrate-Wednesday WOW

Aren't these animals cute?  They come as a group, but I wondered how I could stamp just one of the at a time without masking with a post-it-note.  I noticed the solution to this problem when I checked out some card samples on Pinterest.  Can you guess what the solution was?

If you guessed cut them apart you are correct. I carefully cut the animals apart so that I could use them one at a time and then had to decide what word to pop up in the eclipse part of the card. The word Pals was the only one I could think of that would fit on a standard card.  Friends just was too long. I really like the end result.

Tomorrow I will show you a simple card with a template that can be repeated any way you want.

We Must Celebrate-Technique Tuesday

Isn't this a cute card?  I think it could be used for other times other than Easter.  How about filling the basket with flowers, fruits and veggies?

So, the technique today is changing an embossing folder into something else.

1. The basket base is made from the smallest base of the Coffee Cup.

2. The handle of the basket is made by finding two ovals that are next to each other in size, cut out in one inside the other, and then cut in half to create the handle.

3. The background of the saying is the smallest oval in the Layering Oval framelit set.

When you are stamping, try thinking outside the box to make each set even more versatile.

Did you know that all the bundles that are currently in the Annual catalog and the Occasions catalog will be retiring when the catalog is over?  So, if you are interested in a current bundle buy it now while the items in the bundle are discounted 10%.  I have a couple I am pretty sure I will be buying.

Tomorrow I will show you a WOW card I made using my favorite technique, the eclipse technique.

We Must Celebrate- Miscellaneous Monday

Wow what a week last week was!  It started off with a Stamp a Stack for MS.  I had 18 cards with all the supplies in plastic containers for stampers to choose from.  While they were stamping I was in the same room, but keeping busy by cutting my card stock in half to create card bases.  This was an idea I had to save some prep time when make a lot of cards that are the same.

Later Monday evening after the last of the ladies left, I started out with a twinge in my neck that as the evening progressed turned into major neck pain.  When I was thinking about what might have caused this pain, I realized that I was cutting card stock for about 3 hours.  NOTE TO SELF.....Limit the amount of time you cut card stock without stopping.

That time saving event had me putting ice and Heat on my neck for 3 days.  So that explains my lack of posting last week.

I am back full force with my retired stamp set blog.  Now, I loved this stamp set for several reasons.

1. The animals were pretty darn cute.

2. I liked the group together and all the little accents that went along with the critters.

3. My stamping group is called the Super Snails, so I had to have the set for that cute little snail.

I decided the snail needed a card all by himself.  I love the sayings in the Birthday Wit stamp set, and the one about being late seemed appropriate for a slow moving snail. I am pretty good now about getting cards out to people on time, but occasionally forget, so this card will come in handy.

Tomorrow's card shows you how to made a new item from an embossing folder.

Remember, all the retired stamps, card stock, ink and designer papers will be no longer available after May 31st.  So, if there is something you really like you can order it now from my store.  Each item listed below connects to the store to make your ordering a little bit easier.

Flying Home-Friday Fun

Aren't these clouds so cute.  Wish I could see them here in dreary Illinois.
I think this designer paper is one of the fun parts of this card.  Can you guess what is on the other side?  If you guessed stars on a purple background you would be correct.

Fun for me

1. Coloring the bird house, yes I love to color.

2. The cute bird holding the Happy Birthday message in its beak.

3. The Tranquil Tide colored ribbon.

4. Yes, the clouds.

Next week I will be featuring the We Must Celebrate stamp set.  Don't forget to make a comment on my blog to receive one of the cards of the week in the mail.  And be sure and follow me so you can receive notice when I post a new entry.

Have a great weekend, and see you next week.

Flying Home-Wednesday Wow

I attached the leaf element underneath the sqaure so the leaves that are on the top can hang free.
Do you love to color? This set is a great one for coloring.  The method I chose was the Stampin Blends.  They are great for adding dimension to your coloring.  They come in pairs, one light and one dark and make it easy to add depth even if you are not an expert ( like me).  Why did I consider this a WOW card?  The added element of the leaves.  They are a thinlit that is a part of the Petals and More thinlit set.

You can see some of the shading I accomplished by using my Stampin Blends.

Tomorrow I will share a simple card that would be easy to recreate with any stamp in this set.

Flying Home-Technique Tuesday

Notice all the pieces that are the Peekaboo Peach color, the hearts, ribbon, and card stock.
The technique featured today is layering different items to make a cute focal point on your card.

1. I used one of the layered circles to make the back scalloped circle.

2. I stamped the image on white card stock, colored it in with stampin blends, and then punched it out with a circle that matched the cute little mini embroidery hoop.

3. I glued the hoop onto the card using the mini glue pen.  Love that adhesive for small shapes.

Another view of the layers in the center of the card.
Tomorrow I will share a WOW card made with this cute stamp set.
