Beautiful Peacock-Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers

I used to be a non-glitter gal, but now I love glitter, gold and silver in moderation.  For today's card I wanted to feature several gold items. Can you see what I used?

  1. I chose the Bundle of Love designer paper because one side was gold and one side was Pool Party.

2. I knew I wanted to back the card with Gold Foil so I used the layered Ovals framelits to cut out the background piece.

3. The gold tinsel from the Occasions catalog and the gold mini sequins from the annual catalog were a great addition.

4. Finally, I added some hearts from the Painted Love Vinyl stickers made the card complete.

Sometimes if you have a theme for your card it helps everything come together.  And my theme for this card was Anything Gold will do.

Tomorrow I will share another card made without the use of the peacock.  When I first looked at this set I thought it was kind of limited, but after playing with it for this week, I realized it can be used in a variety of ways.

Beautiful Peacock-Picture Perfect Birthday

Can you tell what part of the stamp set I used to make the border on the edge of this card?  If you said part of the peacock's tale, then you are correct.

After making the border I stamped the saying from the Picture Perfect stamp set on Sweet Sugarplum card stock, and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The final touch was some striped Sweet Sugarplum ribbon.

This was a simple card and easy to reproduce.

Tomorrow's card was the WOW card of the week.  You will see some gold and Pool Party on the card.  Come back and check it out.

Beautiful Peacock-Dazzling Diamonds glitter

Isn't this peacock cute?  I can imagine stamping it in all different color combinations. If you have been looking all over the Occasions catalog for this stamp set you will not find it there.  This is one of the free stamps you can earn with a $50 order from the Sale a Bration catalog.

I had  a great time picking this color combination.  After I stamped the bird I thought it needed something else, so I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and thought it was the touch that was needed to make the card look great.

If the body of the bird in this stamp looks a little hard to place in an exact position it is because it is.  Stampin'Up! has a new tool that helps alleviate that problem.  It is called the Stamparatus and if you were not able to reserve one, you will be able to own one once the new annual catalog comes out in June.

Tomorrow I will show you that you can make a card with part of this stamp set that does not use the bird.

Stampin' Blends techniques-Color Me Happy Project Kit

Don't you think this card is cute?  It is one of the 4 designs that are a part of the Color Me Happy Project Kit.  Several parts of the card and envelope are already created for you.

1. The envelope is all completely put together for you.  I love the extra gold trim along the edges.  And the inside of the envelope is cute also.

2. The card base is all the Razzleberry color and has the arrow design on it.  No stamping required there.

3. You stamp and color the flower images on an extra piece of white card stock that is added to the card base.  Can you tell what technique I used to color the flowers? (I colored the light color first, and added the dark color second.)   There are 4 cards just like this one in the kit.  4 designs, 4 cards each design, 16 cards in the kit.

When you add the sequins you have a really cute card that did not take very long to make.

Here's how I store my blends.
Stampin'Up! recommends you store the blends flat so the colors stay even in the marker. I did not have any containers that would fit in my cabinets and do the job.  So, I made one.

First I used Tear and Tape Adhesive to attach 5 Acetate boxes together.

Next, I added my markers.  I am a ROYGBIV girl so they were added in rainbow color order with the light marker coming first.

Finally, I knew the blends would slip out of my container so I made a cover out of designer paper.  I chose one of the thicker papers and glued 2 strips together.  They are attached on the top with a magnet and keep my blends safely inside are are cute as well.  I usually copy other people's ideas so it was really fun for me to create my own.

Next week I will feature one of the sets I received free at the November OnStage. Come back and visit to get some more card ideas.  If you like what you see, then like my page.  If you want some blends for your collection then contact me and I will help.

Stampin' Blends techniques-Petal Palette

Can you see what the background card stock color is in this card? I used Crumb Cake.  I think it gives the image a bit of a muted look and I like it.  Bright is good, but sometimes I want an image that is not so bold. How about you?

Did you know Stampin'Up! sells a kit that was specifically designed to use with the blends?  I will share one of the cards I made with the kit in tomorrow's post.

Do you wonder what the recommended way to store the blends might be?  I created my own storage using Stampin'Up! supplies and will share that with you tomorrow. So come back for some more great ideas.

Stampin' Blends techniques-Beautiful Day

Aren't the colors on this flower stunning.  Can you believe it is the same flower that I used as a sample yesterday.  To create this flower you will need to use 3 colors.  3 you might wonder, how can that be since there are only 2 colors in each collection.

1. First use one of the Night of Navy blends and color in the section of the petal closest to the next petal.  Just color in a small area maybe about 1/4 of an inch.

2. Now take the darker color of the Razzleberry blends.  Color over the navy color and extend the Razzleberry color a 1/4 inch further.

3. Finally, take the lighter Razzleberry blend and color the entire petal.  Remember to just do 3 or 4 petals at a time.

Here is a closeup of the flower.  I hope you can see the gradation of the colors.

I was so surprised to find that the navy color was under all of the Razzleberry ink. I have since tried to use my imagination to increase the shading and use an alternate color.  Have fun playing and using your imagination when using the Stampin Blends.  Don't have any yet?  I will be glad to help.  Just go to the shop link at the top of my blog and check them out.

Tomorrow I will show what the blends look like when used on card stock that is not white.

Stampin'Blends techniques-Beautiful Day

Isn't this flower simple but beautiful.  I used a different technique when coloring using my Stampin' Blends.

1. This time I started with the darkest blend and created an outline around each petal of the flower.  These markers blend best if the ink is wet, so I only worked with about 4 petals at a time.

2. I then took the lightest marker and filled in the entire petal even coloring over the darker color I had already used.  A circular motion seems to work the best.

If I placed yesterday's card and today's next to each other you would be able to see a slight difference in each technique.

Tomorrow I will show you a sample that uses 3 colors to make a stunning blend.  Same flower image a totally different look.

Stampin' Blend techniques-Lots of Lavender

Do you see two colors on the tiny petals of this flower?  The blends were used to color the flower and there are two shades for each color.

The technique I used for coloring this flower I call light to dark.

1. Color the entire flower using the lighter shade of marker.
2. Use the darker color to add some shading to each petal of the flower.

I used this same technique to color the ribbon and the leaves.

Did you know you can have this stamp set and not pay a penny for it?  This is one of the Sale a Bration items you can get free with a $50 order.

Tomorrow I will share another technique you can use with the Stampin' Blends.

Bubble Over Bundle-Valentine Card

Wouldn't this made a cute Valentine Heart?  I used several different items from the Occasion and Annual catalog to make this card.

1. The obvious item was the Bubble Over Bundle for the bottle, the bubbles and the tiny heart cut out and stamp.

2. The designer paper is from the Occasions catalog and is called Painted with Love Specialty designer paper.

3. The tinsel ribbon is from the Occasions catalog and the gold edged ribbon is from the annual catalog.

4. The saying is from the Petal Palette stamp set.

It is fun to combine different items from different catalogs to make a great card.

I have had a great time creating these samples and presenting them to you.  I hope I have inspired you to create something yourself.  If so you know where to go, the top of the page and click on shop now.

Next week I will be featuring the stamp set called Lovely Wishes.  It was an all attendee give away at the OnStage I went to in November.  Got to use it right!

Bubble Over Bundle-Narrow Notecards

Do you like the size of this card?  It is very small, too small to mail but perfect for a gift card, or note to put in someone's lunch. Do you wonder how exactly I made the bottle in this card.

1. I cut the bottle 2 times out of vellum.

2. I attached both bottles together using snail adhesive.

3. I then attached the straws to the back of the bottle with glue dots.  They really do not show, but helped get the pieces the way I wanted them.

4. The designer paper is from the Sale a Bration catalog and if you look closely you can see some Glitter Epoxy shapes that I intended to look like bubbles coming out of the bottle.

Couldn't you see a set of these notecards tied with a matching ribbon and given as a thank you to that special someone.

This stamp set and framelit can be used for Valentine's Day.  Come back tomorrow to see how I created a card using this Bubble Over Bundle.

Bubble Over Bundle-Brusho Background

Have you tried Brusho yet?  I admit I was a little nervous that I would be able to do a good job with it when I sat down.

1. I used an aqua painter to make an area on the water color paper very wet.

2. I poked 3 small holes in the top of the Brusho container.  I knew not to open the lid.  It was amazing to me how easy it was to shake just a little bit of Brusho and how it spread all over the wet area.  I like the variety in the color.

3. I did not want to have to wait a long time to have this dry, so I used my heat tool to dry the paper.  I was pleased because using the heat tool did not affect the color.

Next I will be featuring the Whisper White Narrow Notecards.  Come back and check them out.  And while you are waiting contact me if you need the catalogs, or want to order some of these supplies for yourself.  Check up at the top of this page to the shop now tab and you will be in the store.

Bubble Over Bundle-Occasion and Sale a Bration together

Doesn't this look like a great card for a guy?  It has some of my favorite items in it.

1. I love the Wood Texture designer paper stack.  Whatever it goes on looks really good.

2. Framelits, they make cutting out a stamped image very easy.

3. A little touch of silver.  Notice the bottle caps.  I cut them out using the Silver Foil card stock.

Are you wondering where the saying came from?  It is from a thinlit die set that is in the Sale a Bration catalog.  They were very easy to cut out with my Big Shot.
This year there are two levels of free items in the Sale a Bration Catalog.  One level is the $50 level.  For each $50 you spend you can have those items for free.  This year there is also a $100 level.  These thinlits called Celebrate You,  are available for $100 in sales.  AND they will also be in the new annual catalog.

Have you heard of Brusho?  Tomorrow's card features a background made using Brusho.

Bubble Over Bundle-Framelits Chart and Simple Card

I love the bright colors in this card.  In Illinois where I live it is very dreary outside and has been for quite a while.  Creating and looking at a bright colored card like this one keeps me hopeful for the sunny days ahead.

We made this card as one of our make n takes at OnStage that was held in Salt Lake City in November.  Here's what is great about this bundle.

1. The 19 framelits, called Bottles and Bubbles, cut out just about anything connected with the stamp set.
2. The Bundle and a Little bit more, like some ribbon and the Glitter and Clear epoxy shapes qualify a person for a free Sale a Bration item.
3. The designer paper called Bubbles and Fizz  in the Sale a Bration catalog matches and is meant to go along with the Bubble Over Bundle.

Don't you love when things coordinate together.

Tomorrow I will share a card two more items that coordinate from the Occasions and the Sale a Bration catalogs.

Petal Palette Bundle-Yearly Calendar

Isn't this a cute calendar?  And it has everything a person might need to take notes.

I like to show my appreciation to my customers at the end or beginning of a new year.  I made a calendar for my regular customers just like this.  One the back is a list of my regular classes I hold each month.

I also made a calendar for each one of my club members.  On the back of their calendar was a list of who was the hostess for each month of 2018.

These cute little calendars stand up.  My downline will be making one at our meeting this month and on the back I will put a listing of all our meeting dates for the year.

Do you want one for yourself?  Well, become a customer, join the Press Club, start your own club, or join my team and I will see that you get one for yourself.

I have enjoyed sharing these projects with you this week.  Come back on Monday and see the projects I have made using the Bubble Over Bundle.

Petal Palette bundle-Petal Passion Memories and More

Are you a scrapbooker?  If not do you avoid considering the Memories and More kits in all our catalogs?  Did you know that they are a fast as easy way to make a lot of cards in a little time?

1. I cut a card sized piece of Powder Pink card stock and embossed it with the sequins embossing folder.

2. I colored one of the smaller cards in the Petal Passion Memories and More kit and backed it in Basic Black card stock.

3. For the saying I used one of the stickers that are included in the kit.

See how easy it was to create one card.  It would be just as easy to make several more from this one kit.

Tomorrow I will share a gift I made for all my regular customers.

Petal Palette Bundle-Drip Technique

Have you heard of the drip technique? I first heard about it on the Stampin'Up! blog. Here is how it is done.

1. I used the Shimmer White card stock as my paper.

2. I spritzed one third of the card stock with water.

3. Next I added one drop of reinker to the water.  I tilted my paper and let the color drip.

4. I continued with a second and third section, spritzed, dropped on some reinker, then tilted the card stock.

5. When you have all color you wish, you need to let the paper dry.  You can do that by setting it aside till dry or if you are inpatient like I am, you can use a heat tool to dry the colors.

Try this with your favorite color combination and see what you can create.

Petal Palette Bundle-Petals and More Thinlits Dies

Don't you love how dainty this branch is?  It is one of the 10 thinlits that are part of the Petals and More thinlit dies.  What I love about this set of thinlits, is that some of them cut out the stamps, but there are several extra thinlits that can be accent pieces.

Did you know when you look at a stamp set in a catalog if the image has a grey area around the outside of it, it can be cut out with a matching thinlit?  I love a set where you can cut out your stamp with a thinlit instead of having to use a pair of scissors.

This bundle has two options, wood-mount or clear.  Which ever option you might choose, you will be able to choose your favorite Sale a Bration set.  What a deal!

Tomorrow I will share a great technique I tried called the drip technique.

Petal Palette Bundle-Petal Passion Designer paper

What is your favorite stamp set or bundle in the new Occasions catalog?  Mine is the Petal Palette bundle. The Petal Passion designer paper is a great addition to the bundle.  Here is what I love about the bundle.

1. I love the water color look to the stamps.

2. Most of the images can be cut out with framelits.  That makes creating a card so much easier.

3. Black and white is a great combination with just a touch of lots of different colors.

4. Making a card is fast and simple.

The cards featured this week will be a part of the February Card Cafe.

Come back tomorrow to see another card made with this bundle.

If you do not have a copy of the Occasions catalog for yourself, then contact me and I will make sure you get one in your hands as soon as possible.

The cost of this stamp set will qualify you for a Sale a Bration set.  Hurrah!

Everything Heart Card Cafe-Sure Do Love you

What do you notice about this card?  Does it look hard or easy to duplicate?

1. The first thing I notice is the colors.  I love the Painted with Love designer paper that is a part of the Sure Do Love you suite.
      Rich Razzleberry
      Melon Mambo
      Calypso Coral
      And Gold

2. The similar shapes.  The Sweet and Sassy thinlits make cutting out the hearts so easy.

3. The little gold hearts are stickers.  Easy to take off the sheet and easy to attach to the card.

Whether the card looks easy or not it is easy to create.

I used the same color scheme to make the box that is a part of the Sure
Do Love you bundle.

1. Same colors from the designer paper.

2. Heart shapes

3. Gold stickers.

Tomorrow I will share a card made using the new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards and Envelopes.

Everything Heart Card Cafe-Heart Happiness

Another simple card made with this great set.  The images in this set are hearts and coordinate with the Sweet and Sassy heart thinlits.

The designer paper is from the Wood Textures designer paper stack.
The accent piece is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock and colored in with the new Blends.  I love the look of the color on the Crumb Cake.

By using a piece of twine and a glitter dot it looks like the heart is hanging from a wall.

Are you wondering where these sets are coming from.  Today is the first day that items can be ordered from the new Occasions catalog.  If you don't have one yet, then let me know and I will see that you get one.

Do you know what else starts today?  Sale a Bration.  For every $50 you spend you are entitled to one item in the Sale a Bration catalog for free.
Have a great time checking these two catalogs out.

Tomorrow I will be showing you a card made using the bundle Sure Do Love You.

Everything Heart Card Cafe-Heart Happiness

Happy New Year!  Are you ready to do some stamping?  I will have my first event of the new year on Monday, January 8th at either 1:00 or 6:30.  What is a card cafe?  I feature cards made with either a bundle of stamp set.  You made 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs.  When you RSVP you are able to make another project as a thank you.

The first card is one of my favorites, a simple card.
What makes is simple for me is...

Stamping
Heart, saying and little hearts

Simple embellishments
doily, a bit of glimmer paper, and some baker's twine.

This got me started with my new year's stamping.
Come back tomorrow to see another card cafe sample.

Look like fun a fun class to attend, contact me for more information.

Happy New Year-Love Today Planner

Greetings,

I hope every one had a wonderful Christmas and New Year with family and friends.  Ours was pretty quiet since it is so hard to travel, but that was nice to be able to spend time just the two of us together.  Sam is doing really well with a knee walker and hopefully healing in the process.

Today I want to share a video I made on how I set up the Love Today Planner from Stampin'Up! This planner can be found in the annual catalog and is set up so you can start and end it on what ever month you would like.

One of my goals for this year is to keep organized and I am hoping this calendar will help me achieve that goal.

Come back tomorrow to see the cards I will be featuring in my first Card Cafe of the new year.
