Happy Birthday to Me

The cover says Turkeys and football, your birthday too. Fun memories of this day our gift to you. Happy 70th birthday!

Do you find that the time goes double fast this time of year?  Well, it sure has for me since we came back from Tennessee.  Thanksgiving was special for me this year because it was also my birthday.  Every 7 years anyone whose birthday falls near the end of November has the same situation as I did this year.
It was super sweet because I also turned 70 and had all my kids and grand kids ( except for Adia) with me.  Jude, my son Brian's special friend, had everyone present take a picture of me, then head on upstairs to a room I was not allowed in to create a page in this very special book.  She sanded, stained, and cut the wood for the cover of this scrapbook I will always treasure.

This is the page the Alex my youngest grandson created.

Everyone gathered right after our meal and presented me with the book.  When I read the cover it brought tears to my eyes.  I felt very special and loved.

Thankful Layout

I created this layout as a way for my family to list the things they are thankful for.  I thought each person could have a piece of paper to write down what they are thankful for and I could attach it to their picture.

This is the year that all my kids gather at Thanksgiving.  I am so excited to have everyone together. Now that they are older and some have families of their own, it seems to get harder and harder to get us all together.  We will gather in Tennessee, and drive from Missouri, Illinois, and Ohio to be together.

Holiday Home-Miscellaneous Monday

Another card I CASE'd from Stampin Success.  This is a great fall card and would be perfect to send out for Thanksgiving.  I love how one of the hills has been textured using an embossing folder.

Thankful Tuesday-Thanksgiving card

It is hard for me to believe that a week has passed since I have sat down to the computer.  Family crisis and 15 people in my house are the reasons.  But, it feels good to be back to stamping and sharing.  This card is from my sister Nan who is also my downline.  I love the look of the card.  The interesting thing she told me about the card is that the challenges I give my downline have stretched her as a stamper.  Last year she would have been content with sending out this card with just the saying on it.  But this year it did not look complete.  So after several attempts she added the leaves.  I love that about working with the craft.  You learn new ways to create your projects that step them up a bit.  So, thanks Nan for a great card that I enjoyed.

Scrappin Saturday-Using up Little pieces

Here is our latest creation.  Linda comes up with the ideas and I help her put the creations together.  I think we make a great team.  Don't you love how the antlers are the candy canes.  This made the reindeer a little top heavy so we put a tiny kit kat bar on the inside.  Now they stand up.  Other than the body can you see all the scraps we used to make this creature.

The original sample we were copying had a jack-o-lantern face on the pumpkin, but without the face this could be a great table decoration for Thanksgiving.  Can you guess what is in the inside of this pumpkin?  If you guessed a dum dum sucker then you were correct.

This has been so much fun we are wondering what holiday we can make things for next.
