Stamparatus Fun Fact Friday

How many inks do you think I used to stamp the Hooray on this card?
Would you believe it if I told you I just used one ink?
I inked the stamp up thoroughly the first time, and stamped 4 times.

How did I line the stamps up so perfectly each time?  I used the Stamparatus of course.

On the side and the top of the base are some holes.  They match up with the same spot on each one of the plates.

You can lift your plate up to a 90 degree angle, pull it out and move it down one spot.  You do not have to move your stamp, just the plate.

You can do this as many times as you wish.  This is called the hinge technique.

This card could easily have been my Make it Simple Monday because it is that easy.

There are several other techniques I could share

Making a plaid
Creating Multiple stamps at one time
And more I have not even learned yet

The fun part of this tool is that I was on a team of demonstrators that helped design it.  I love that about Stampin'Up!.  They involve their demonstrators in a lot of the decision making parts of the company.

What have you got planned for your weekend?  I have a family birthday party to attend and then plan to relax and maybe stamp a bit.

Enjoy your weekend,
See you next week,
Sushi

Stamparatus-Wednesday WOW

So how did I get this overlapping flower look using the Stamparatus? Post it Notes!

Before I started any of the stamping, I stamped the solid flower image on a post it note.  I found some post its that have adhesive all over the back.  These are best for this project.  I cut around the flower on one side only.

1. After placing the solid flower stamp on one plate,  I stamped one flower.

2. Next, after placing the detailed flower stamp on another plate, I stamped over the first flower.

3. Then, I placed the post it note over the flower moved my card stock one place on the wreath template, and repeated the process moving the post it note each time, until I had formed my wreath.

I love the look.  I got this idea from watching a video created by Jennifer McGuire.  She has great detailed videos that feature many ways to use stamps.  She is not connected to Stampin'Up! but her ideas can be used with any brand of stamps.  She does not use a Stamparatus, but when watching her videos you can see the advantages of this tool.

Have you ever wished you knew an easy way to made a reversible image?  Well, tomorrow I will show you a very easy way to do that.

Can you believe that September is almost over?  This month has just sped by, but I guess they all have if I think hard about it. I am looking forward to fall weather, one of my two favorite seasons.

Find some time today to do something for you.

Till tomorrow,
Happy Stamping,
Sushi

Stamparatus-Technique Tuesday

Do you recognize this card?  I featured it a couple of weeks ago when Falling for Leaves was my featured stamp set.

Today, I thought I would let you know how I created this wreath. First, I made a template by following these steps.

1. I cut a scrap of paper 7 by 7 inches and marked the center on top and sides.

2. Next, I cut a piece of card stock 4 by 4 inches and marked the center and sides of this piece.

3. Then, I cut a piece of window sheet 7 by 7 inches.  I placed the window sheet on top of the 7 by 7 paper, and laid the 4 by 4 on top of the window sheet lining up the half way points.

4. Using a Sharpie and a ruler, I traced around the 4 by 4 inch square onto the window sheet.

5. I then turned the 4 by 4 90 degrees and lined up the corners with the paper half way marks. I again used the sharpie and a ruler to trace around the 4 by 4.

6. When I was finished I had a template I could use to make a wreath using the Stamparatus.  Check out my Technique Tuesday video below to see how that works.

This is an easy way to get a template to make a wreath.  I have seen others that involve some cutting, and I found I was not as accurate as I was when tracing around a shape with a sharpie.

When using this template be sure and place the sharpie side down so that the lines do not fade over time and use.

I have wanted to share my excitement about the Stamparatus with others so I have created a 2 part class I am calling Get to Know Your Stamparatus.

The first class will be held on Friday, October 5th at 1:00 or 6:30.  You do not have to own a Stamparatus to take the class.  The cost will be $25 and include 6 cards from 3 designs, your own wreath builder template, and a pack of paper Stampin'Up! has come up with made for the Stamparatus. RSVP by September 28th.

In case you can not make my class, but still want the Stamparatus.  If you purchase it from me using this Hostess Code, I will send you the template for the wreath and some sample wreath cards.

HOSTESS CODE   7KNGXHJU

I am having fun today, planning my classes for the rest of the calendar year and making the samples.  I hope you are finding a way to enjoy your day.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a card I made using the wreath builder and a post it note.

Till then,
Happy Stamping,
Sushi
