Dove of Peace
I never would have believed that I would choose black and white for a Christmas card, but this Winter Wonderland designer paper is so elegant looking I decided it would look good on a Christmas card. The Dove of Peace stamp set was perfect with just black ink. The word piece is from the thinlet set called Christmas greetings. You probably can't tell but I cut the peace out using the black glimmer paper. One of my favorite cards I made for Christmas.

Winter Wishes
This stamp set Winter Wishes just jumped out of the Holiday Catalog as one of my favorites. Here is what I like about the card.....
1. The Woodland embossing folder makes a subtle background to the card
2. The Snowflake Elements are a great accent which a slightly lighter color than the rest of the card.
3. The sled reminds me of the sleds we used when I was a kid
4. The monochromatic look to the card.
The other images in this set are a pair of skis, skates, snow shoe, pine bow and a pine cone. This made a great card in my Christmas buffet class held at the first of the month.

A Card for Debbie
My daughter Debbie had a birthday last week. I was trying to decide what to get her and then remembered all the gals were going to get pedicures at Thanksgiving time but it did not work out. So, I decided that would be her gift, but I wanted to be clever about it. This is the front of the card I made her. I did have to take my sock off to check out what my foot looked like. And I made sure to look at the foot where I had bunion surgery.
I used the Stampin'Up! Gold Glitz dazzling details for the after picture of her toes. I am sure she will get a kick out of this card. I had fun making it.

Birthday Cards from Friends
One of the special things that happens when you teach people how to make cards is you receive hand made cards on special occasions. This card is from my sister Nan who is also a Stampin'Up! demonstrator. I love the colors and the flower.
Judy who never stamped a card before she started coming to classes send me this card. I love the combination of black and yellow.
Clara got the polka dots so perfect with the ribbon, and papers the coordinated so well together.
My sister Karen gets kits from SEI and I am pretty sure this might be one of those kits. I love the use of the different strips of paper as background for the leaves.
Elaine used Lovely as a Tree for her card. I love how she colored the leaves to look like the fall trees did this year. Elaine said when you make cards at my house you can't send one of those to you on your birthday, so she created her own design. I think I might have to copy that on my own.
Dawn's card looks great with just two colors. Don't you just love how she cut the paper after stamping the flowers.
It was so much fun seeing the creations my stamping friends made for my birthday.

Happy Birthday to Me
| The cover says Turkeys and football, your birthday too. Fun memories of this day our gift to you. Happy 70th birthday! |
Do you find that the time goes double fast this time of year? Well, it sure has for me since we came back from Tennessee. Thanksgiving was special for me this year because it was also my birthday. Every 7 years anyone whose birthday falls near the end of November has the same situation as I did this year.
It was super sweet because I also turned 70 and had all my kids and grand kids ( except for Adia) with me. Jude, my son Brian's special friend, had everyone present take a picture of me, then head on upstairs to a room I was not allowed in to create a page in this very special book. She sanded, stained, and cut the wood for the cover of this scrapbook I will always treasure.
| This is the page the Alex my youngest grandson created. |
